The Community Engagement team develops enterprise-wide strategies to advance Allstate's reputation by engaging agency owners and employees in volunteering and giving initiatives. Programming focuses on creating strategic community involvement efforts, managing relationships with nonprofit partners and vendors, and communicating innovative volunteer opportunities in the communities Allstate serves.
The Corporate Engagement Associate Manager is primarily accountable for creating and delivering multiple social responsibility strategies. Leads multiple strategies related to: community involvement (corporate contributions, volunteerism, workplace giving, disaster relief); social impact (strategic philanthropy, skills-based volunteering, civic engagement); partner relationships(vendor management, nonprofit partner engagement, internal team integration) and technology product ownership.
Job Description
Program Leadership:
• Plans and executes multiple corporate responsibility programs to engage employees and agency owners in community involvement initiatives.
• Defines stakeholder engagement strategies such as volunteering, signature Allstate and Allstate Foundation social impact areas, corporate giving, workplace giving and volunteerism.
• Serves as a technology product owner of collaborative workplace giving, grantmaking and volunteer management platforms.
• Identifies and deploys new capabilities to existing platforms to improve experience, engagement, content publishing, collaboration, communication, workflow and/or metrics as they become available and applicable.
• Benchmarks against best-in-class programs and develops proposals for new, innovative community engagement strategies.
Leadership/Development of Others
• Create a high performance work environment that is flexible, encourages personal accountability, teamwork and ongoing professional development.
• Facilitates diverse people working together; demonstrates consensus building and conflict resolution techniques; encourages participation from each team member; gives and receives constructive advice on project work.
• Provide coaching in regard to performance and skills for continuous development of direct reports.
Employee, Agency Owner and Officer Engagement:
• Leads strategy, programs and opportunities to increase employee and agency owner awareness of and involvement in Allstate’s corporate responsibility efforts, especially volunteering and workplace giving.
• Delivers annual, enterprise-wide opportunities to engage employees and agency owners (Allstate Bring Out the Good Month, Allstate Giving Campaign and other initiatives), as well as senior leadership.
• Ensures operational excellence for programs that support Allstaters’ passions for community involvement.
Measurement and Reporting:
• Measures outcomes and outputs for one or more programs in partnership with technology vendors.
• Delivers accurate and valid metrics for all internal and external reporting.
• Ensures measurement requirements are met by technology vendors.
Communications:
• Supports the development and execution of strategic internal and external communication plans.
• Ensures alignment and consistency with broader corporate responsibility and business communication strategies.
Relationship and Partnership Management:
• Manages partner relationships across community investment programs (nonprofit organizations) and program technology (external vendors and internal partners across Allstate various business units, such as finance, accounting, ATSV/technology and human resources).
• Ensures cross-AOR collaboration and integration for all communications and program implementation.
• Delivers exceptional client services to internal and external partners.
Administration / Department Leadership
• Administers annual workplace giving and operational budgets across several internal cost centers.
• Develops self. Complies with all performance management processes.
• Supports the department's mission and strategies.
• Seeks out opportunities to improve processes while containing costs.
Job Qualifications
5-7 years of hands-on experience in communications, project management and program delivery in a corporate or nonprofit setting. Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or public policy field is preferred.
Strong technical aptitude, including advanced experience with workplace giving technology solutions and Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is preferred.

Change Management:Identifies and anticipates needs for change management communication; leads change management communications.
Communication Strategy and Planning:Understands how to develop effective communication strategies for community engagement and related initiatives. Leverages organizational awareness and interpersonal communication skills to influence others to engage with and offer support to community initiatives. Demonstrates strong creative and persuasive written and verbal presentation skills needed to prepare materials to influence target audience.
Executive Communication:Develops communications strategies for C-suite executives as champions and participants of community engagement programs.
Financial and Insurance Acumen:Has knowledge of the financial and insurance industry. Contributes ideas for how to align community engagement goals and activities to capitalize on industry trends and/or address key industry concerns.
Media Relations:Understands the role of media relations and drives planning and implementing media relations strategies for specific community engagement programs.
Project Management:Develops and executes work plans for specific community engagement initiatives that organizes a project into discreet tasks; sequences activities to achieve maximum efficiency; effectively estimates budget and costs; manages time and budget to achieve goals.
Corporate Responsibility:Leads specific corporate responsibility program. Looks at issues from multiple perspectives with a sense of fairness and balance, seeing both business and social realities. Draws on optimism and conviction to build and support community engagement programs that are designed to make a difference and inspire and engage employees and agency owners.
Reputation Leadership and Brand Management:Understands the importance of maintaining a strong reputation and brand.
Strategic Thinking:Provides strategic solutions to issues facing the company to advance the company priorities. Thinks strategically and creatively, connecting the dots to find the ideal intersection between community needs and business resources.
