What we’re looking for
• 10 to 12 week summer internship, 40-hour work week.
• Rising seniors working toward Bachelors (BS/BA) degree or entering final year of Masters program (MS/MA).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated individuals with attention to detail and effective time-management skills.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
Internship Summary
• We are looking for someone with a technical aptitude who understands basic data processing concepts and wants to learn how database technologies support critical business functions.
• Help with Relational Data Modeling – i.e. understanding the relationships between tables.
• Create and Evaluate SQL.
• Learn to create and maintain database schemes for mainframe and distributed databases.
• Learn to create Stored Procedures and Triggers.
• Help to monitor and tune the database performance of SQL and Stored Procedures.
• Learn how to do visual EXPLAINs using IBM’s Data Studio.
• Create and maintain documentation for database support.
• Learn mainframe Job Control Language (JCL) and how to analyze mainframe SQL.
