Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The Software Product Manager defines and prioritizes the features and capabilities that will make Jemstep Advisor Pro the market leading digital advice platform. This role will focus on creating and managing Jemstep’s API offering. This role will work closely with target customers that include financial institutions, developers, and 3rd party integrators to convert their compelling needs into a great API user experience and a complete, executable development specification.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Thorough understanding of API target customer personas, particularly their needs and their pain points, including developers (both external and internal), integrators, and evaluators.
• Collaborate with Engineering to create and manage the inputs of the agile development process for APIs to assure development inputs are complete and in proper order.
• Work with target customers, Jemstep Engineering and Solutions Architects to create and manage the API roadmap
• Ownership of the full API customer experience including communication processes for uptime, the roadmap, updates/release notes, and feedback.
• Work closely with Jemstep technical writers to manage API documentation and assure core value propositions and important customer application examples are present and easy to consume.
• Maintain deep insight on key API applications to assure development constraints such as data size or response time are considered in API design.
• Subject matter expert for Product Marketing, Sales and Client Services as needed
Qualifications
Work Experience / Knowledge:
• Minimum 2 years experience as a software developer writing code
• Minimum 2 years of product management experience specific to API offerings
• Knowledge of common industry practices, patterns and standards for APIs that a customer would expect in a robust API offering.
• Demonstrated history of understanding target customers to develop prioritized product specs for enterprise software.
• Demonstrated history of working with software developers to collaborate on feasibility and refine a series of viable product releases.
• Experience with Fintech a plus

• Familiarity with new technologies and ability to apply them practically to help customers solve existing problems, or reach new audiences, or develop new business models.
• Able to isolate patterns and priorities from numerous customer scenarios and conversations
• Can analyze a large customer problem and break it down into its smallest incremental components of value
• Ability to prioritize distinct tasks in an environment with multiple competing priorities
• Strong work ethic and integrity. Likes to work hard and have fun.
• Excellent written communication ability and confident speaking skills.
Formal Education:
(minimum requirement to perform job duties)
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required, MBA is a plus
Working Conditions:
• Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.
• The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary.
• Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
• Ability to travel up to 15%
