The Director of the Vendor Management Services team is the primary point of contact for the WAL organization for anything related to vendor management services, including vendor contracts and negotiations, vendor risk management, vendor rules and regulations and other best practices. Ensures compliance by the Bank and vendors to all aspects of the corporate vendor management policy and program. Responsibilities will include contract negotiation, ongoing monitoring, risk assessing, and leadership of team and overall management of the program. Assists business owners through the process, escalated high priority initiatives and ensures staff success. Creates, writes, and bank policies and procedures. Ensures that team performs all aspects of the vendor management role in accordance with regulations and internal policies. Establishes annual goals/responsibilities for their direct reports and team. Ensures direct report adhere to the company policy. Develops procedures that align with the Vendor Management Policy.
Responsibilities
• Lead activities relating to vendor management over all vendors and related activity. Ensuring contracts are executed after appropriate due diligence; are performed with regular and appropriate ongoing monitoring and that all activities during the vendor lifecycle are managed accurately, consistently and professionally.
• Work with key stakeholders, vendors and vendor management services to ensure that onboarding and ongoing monitoring are being performed appropriately with minimal impact to business owners.
• Review processes to ensure accuracy.
• Escalated point of contact for any vendor related questions and issues. Responsible for all activity of VMS
• Escalation point when staff is experiencing issues with their vendors /stakeholders.
• Ensures direct reports are compliant with the bank policies and procedures.
• Ensure direct reports follow the VMS process accurately and efficiently.
• Support Management with weekly/monthly reports as needed.
• Support Management with developing procedures, workflows, job aids for the team.
• Review processes to ensure accuracy
• Manage the relationship with the business and the vendor. Ensures vendor performance to ensure standards are being met, if vendor is not meeting expectation, work with business owner to remediate or replace the vendor.
• Assist in the negotiation high dollar contracts (as an escalation) to ensure the bank receives the best price and maximizing the cost savings for the bank.
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers, team members, vendors, and other stakeholders as required to ensure client satisfaction for services.
• Maintains an expert working knowledge of all vendor management rules and regulations.
• Understands the products and services used by the company and how they fit in to the WAB vendor management services area.
• Manage and mentor a cross functional team of 10 or more; ensures success by creating attainable but stretch goals and fosters a collaborative and positive work environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Vendor Management/Supply Chain Management or relevant area of study preferred
• One to three years’ experience Banking & Financial Services preferred
• Three to five years of Vendor Management experience required
• Experience in Microsoft Office systems and related programs required
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Project / Assignment Management skills
• Experience in leading RFP/RFQ/RFI under a competitive structure
• Vendor management, including banking regulations
• Three to five years’ experience in working with federal or state regulations in technology, operations, and/or data protections Three to five years’ experience understanding FFIEC auditing regulations, or similar in the financial industry strongly desired
• Previous experience directly supervising a small group of employees (1-5) preferred
