Description
The Sr. Operational Risk Analyst is responsible for large, complex operational database production processes related to critical Retail business functions within a SAS/SQL infrastructure. This position will also perform application maintenance and issue analysis/remediation. The position requires experience and proficiency in understanding end to end business processes and database architecture/standards, strong attention to detail, solid verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with technical query languages (SQL, SAS). This is a very fast paced organization requiring advanced multi-tasking capabilities while maintaining high quality deliverables.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure all process SLAs are met.
• Ensure compliance with all Santander policies and regulatory requirements including but not limited to Customer Privacy and Information Security.
• Troubleshoot data issues and internal client inquiries and propose/implement solutions.
• Execute queries for business processes that generate data feeds, extracts, and reporting. Validate all outputs are accurate based on QC/QA.
Qualifications
• Prior banking experience required working with Operational deliverables.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in MIS/computer science or Finance.
• Between 3 – 5 years of relevant experience; 5 – 8 years of experience preferred
• Able to manage major technical operational process using a combination of MS Tools, Database tools and SAS. Able to prioritize work in a dynamic multi-tasking environment.
• Able to summarize systems and operational issues in non-technical terms and present clear summaries to guide management decisions.
• Able to take operational ownership of complex established processes. Trouble shooting and problem solving skills and mindset beneficial.
• Able to work with non-technical resources, communicating systems capabilities and constraints, and arrive at clear, consensus on how available technology will be applied to address business needs.
• Required: MS Office, VBA, SAS (preferred), SQL Server. Experience working with large datasets. Nice to have CRM experience, Mainframe/COBOL, Unix. Spanish language fluency a big plus.
