The Global Consumer Services Group (GCSG) offers a diverse set of products to Cardmembers worldwide, ranging from the iconic Charge Cards and lending products to consumer travel solutions. This position is for a Band 35 role that will support the P&L Management function for this business.
Global Consumer P&L Management and Decision Science team provides an exciting opportunity to develop analytics techniques as well as planning and forecasting. This role is critical to helping senior leadership understand global consumer business performance and validate our momentum relative to our goals and target.
The P&L Management team supports GCSG by providing actionable recommendations to influence business strategy, partner across Finance, Risk and Business to derive strategic insights and drive decisions and develop profitability analytics to support investment and strategic decisions.
The position will report to the Director of P&L Management and also assist in various ad hoc and ongoing analysis related to the overall GCSG P&L, including developing presentations and supporting monthly forecasts, the annual Plan, and the Long Range Plan. The Manager will gain significant exposure across Finance both in US and internationally.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Analyse monthly operating results with a focus on uncovering strategic insights
• Prepare quarterly Business Unit reviews
• Assist in developing the annual Long Range Plan, in collaboration with business partners and Finance colleagues
• Cover overall Revenue and Pre-Tax Income storylines for the GCSG business, and manage partnerships across the finance organization such as Risk, MR Finance, and various LFO teams
• Perform ad hoc analysis and develop presentations in collaboration with the USCS P&A team
Qualifications
• Highly motivated individual with an ability to drive results and work with ambiguity
• Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and through presentations
• Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages
• Strong analytical skills - Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work under time pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
• Advance excel and modeling skills with hands-on experience of Amex systems for forecasting and management results (e.g. TM1, IDN and BlueLight).
• Knowledge of Amex Card business preferred, including drivers, P&L dynamics and financial processes
