Position Overview
The Risk & Controls Professional position will manage risk and activities for Single-Family Data and will report to the Risk and Control Manager in the Single-Family Data organization. The candidate will conduct on-going risk assessments; ensure appropriate controls are implemented and complete control remediation as needed. This position will also be involved in the coordination of internal and external audit activities and SOX control testing that impact the shared information assets. This position requires sound judgment, persistence and well-developed organizational skills.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist in the establishment and maintenance of SOX and operational controls for SF Data.
• Continuous monitoring of the control environment to identify control gaps, emerging risks and mitigation strategies, as well as opportunities to streamline and optimize the control environment.
• Track, monitor and report on risk and control issues.
• Coordinate with management on issue.
• Coordinate audits and exams; includes managing action plans to ensure they are completed timely and accurately.
• Support implementation of new requirements.
• Creating clear and concise documentation.
• Working independently under normal supervision.
• Support the development of training documentation and manage training logistics for the SF Risk and Controls Team.
• Assist with preparation of monthly/quarterly key stakeholder meeting materials.
Qualifications
• 2-4 years of audit, control, compliance or operational risk experience in the financial services industry
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, Management or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated ability to assess the adequacy of internal controls in mitigating risk
• Experience implementing Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and/or Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA)
• Experience defining and documenting business processes and functions
• Ability to effectively collaborate with upstream and downstream risk and controls stakeholders and influence outcomes
Preferred Skills
• CISA, CPA, CIA, PMP, CISSP or other relevant professional certification
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and COBIT and strong analytical skills
• Public accounting, Consulting or internal audit experience
• Knowledge of secondary mortgage market
• Ability to develop effective relationships across the firm
• Ability to influence others
