THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our Account Executives play a vital role in ensuring our clients receive the service they need to properly manage their insurance policies. You are the facilitator of positive and effective relationships with our valued clients and insurance carrier staff.
The Account Executive develops, manages and expands relationships with employee benefit clients by performing the following duties.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads an assigned BOB, develops & maintains relationships (at all levels) for retention with growth expectations.
• Partnering with producer(s), the ability to create all presentations and presenting confidentially and comfortably.
• Responsible for knowing, learning, delivering and executing on all industry market trends & compliance at all times.
• Experience with all vendor funding arrangements (i.e. self-funding) including carved-out options (i.e. Rx) and other market trends (i.e. captives).
• Leading & directing team members (Account Manager(s), Account Representative(s) & Benefit Analyst(s)).
• Coaches & mentors the team & provides direction on such as, but not limited to:
◦ RFP & marketing process, including which carriers to include in marketing, negotiating rates with carriers.
◦ Strategies for new & renewing plans.
◦ Pre-renewal & renewal timelines, project plans, meetings & presentations.
◦ Client well-being initiatives.
◦ Developing client’s multi-year strategic plan, annual planning calendar & ensuring successful execution.
◦ Compliance requirements & request, including SPD wrap documents & 5500 filings.
◦ Strategies & execution for ACA requirements.
◦ Client’s reporting requirements.
◦ Vendor management.
◦ Communications.
◦ All aspects of executing Open Enrollment.
• Serves as highest point of escalation for issues or activities.
• Understands and can explain all aspects of carrier renewals.
• Prepares & conducts financial, technical & product presentations & demonstrations.
• Participates in sponsored events, promotes services & initiatives.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
• Must hold a bachelor's Degree
• 7+ years of related benefits insurance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Preference will be given to candidates with brokerage, insurance carrier or sales management experience
• Must be currently licensed in good standing (CA Life Agent license)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, benefit summaries, bid specifications, legislation and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence clearly and without grammatical errors.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions, proportions, percentages
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to create effective presentations and exhibits
• Must be able to develop and maintain string client relationships; work effectively with insurance and service vendors to gain cooperation in meeting clients' needs
• Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to effectively coach others and lead by example
