Job Description
Everest Insurance Company, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd., is seeking an experienced claims professional to fill a claims adjuster position on our Workers’ Compensation team in Walnut Creek, CA.
The ideal candidate should possess the ability to oversee TPA handled Workers’ Compensation claims, ensuring compliance within Everest’s best practice standards, industry best practices and specific service instructions; supporting growth and development of the Everest Workers’ Compensation products offerings. Provide technical oversight for Workers’ Compensation claims being handled by TPAs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Analyze claims metrics including reserve accuracy, productivity and expense management
• Develop and execute on action plans to address result deficiencies;
• Conduct regular meetings with TPAs to discuss trends and claim handling concerns;
• Develop and maintain relationships with underwriting groups and brokers/agents.
• Work with business partners to address customer service issues
• Ensure compliance with Everest TPA Claim Handling Guidelines
• Perform focused claim reviews as dictated by needs of the program
• Report program developments to Everest management
• Actively manage and resolve claims where appropriate
• Participate in prospective and onboarding meetings with policyholders and brokers.
Work Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of claims experience working in the Workers’ Compensation field & 3-5 years working with TPAs
• In-depth knowledge of Workers’ Compensation claims handling processes
• Knowledge of state Workers’ Compensation claims handling rules & regulations
• Claims Adjuster Licenses
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to utilize data to drive results
• Excellent work ethic
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Ability and willingness to present to senior management and other group settings
• Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office products with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Analytical & interpretive skills; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong organizational and task completion skills.
• Ability to work well in a professional, team-oriented environment
