ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Acts as liaison between Corporate Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) Manager to provide necessary data to support corporate level deliverables and deadlines.
• Prepare weekly loan expense, loss reserve, bill of claim, and real estate owned analysis.
• Prepares monthly flux/variance analysis.
• Serves as back up to the wire desk.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly unaudited financial statements to include: Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement for management, auditors (external, internal), licensing and by others as requested.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual analytics for income statement and balance sheet account activity and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities as necessary.
• Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures and ensures the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
• Prepares, coordinates and supports the financial audit process at the business unit and corporate level.
• Oversees accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
• Evaluates and advises on calculations, tracking & projections on insurance bond coverage, net worth and dividend. Stays abreast to regulatory updates that effect the calculations.
• Assist in the coordination and providing necessary data to the FP&A team for the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Establish accounting policies and procedures for new accounting initiatives.
• Coordinate and support various accounting/finance projects.
• Perform assigned accounting duties during close process.
• Perform special projects and process improvement/re-engineering initiatives, as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of GAAP and extensive knowledge with allocations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Thorough analytical and mathematical skills. Ability to provide logical solutions to complex situations.
• Knowledge of and ability to use automated financial systems, accounting software, and software specific to department needs. Intermediate to advance excel experience required.
• Ability to work with others to understand business needs and issues.
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties in order to meet external filing deadlines and internal reporting deadlines with multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports
• Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team oriented environment.
• Ability to work in an organized manner and consistently follow-up on tasks.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in person, by telephone and via email
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with five years of general ledger accounting experience.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred, MBA a plus.
WORK CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Must have the ability to attend work and be productive during normal business hours and to work early, late or weekend hours as needed for successful job performance.
