Responsibilities
The program is designed to provide you with the skills you need throughout your professional career, including networking, team building and leadership. You will gain real-world experience working alongside seasoned commercial middle market bankers, as well as in depth product knowledge in the areas of financing, treasury management, private wealth, foreign exchange, and derivatives.
Our Commercial Banking Training Program includes classroom learning and practical application.
1. Classroom: Taught by professionals at CIBC Bank USA as well as select industry and topic experts. Key subjects include accounting, finance, credit analysis, business writing, financial modeling, and relevant computer skills
2. Practical experience in national commercial lending group.
This individual will play a key role in the preparation of credit requests and provide support to the relationships.
Essential Duties:
• Underwrite credit transactions for all lines of business.
• Assist with other risk management and product initiatives.
• Analyzing financial information and statements.
• Analyze and identify risks associated with various commercial loans.
• Preparation of credit requests.
• Monitoring loan covenants.
• Prepare presentations for approval committees.
• Additional duties assigned
This role will be located in Chicago, IL for a period of 3 months for training; thereafter, the Credit Analyst will work out of the Minneapolis, MN office with our National Commercial Banking team.
Qualifications
• College degree required and a minimum two classes in accounting desired.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Detail-oriented
• Critical thinking and analytical abilities combined with strong interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work individually and within teams
• Solid work ethic and a commitment to clients, other team members and the communities we serve
• Must complete a writing sample and/or case study for all in-bank interviews
• College degree required and a minimum two classes in accounting desired.
