Job Description
Visa has the world’s largest consumer payments dataset, representing over 3 billion cards, 50 billion annual transactions and $10.8 trillion in annual volume across the globe.
We are on an exciting journey to harness this massive, rich dataset to develop products that help expand access to credit to consumers and small merchants. We have come a long way in that journey and are now commercializing our products to scale them up across the globe.
This is an exciting and fast-paced role in a new business line that would be well suited for those who enjoy being hands-on with strategy formulation and driving results. The role will focus particularly on Small Merchant Lending and how Visa can build products to help the Acquiring/Small Business Banking ecosystem expand access to credit to merchants.
The Director of Small Merchant Lending will:
• Leveraging market research, and conversations with country teams identify the key barriers to banks providing access to credit to small merchants in less penetrated markets from an economic, banking infrastructure, technical and human capital standpoint
• Based on the research, develop product proof of concepts and associated business case and test plan to demonstrate which of those barriers Visa may be able to address in a scalable way
• Partner with regional teams and technology teams to implement the POCs and given the results, make a recommendation on if and how Visa can accelerate the adoption of credit in less penetrated markets
• Partner with Technology to build scalable capabilities to support those recommendations
• Working with country teams refine the product to a commercial grade solution
• Develop region-specific strategies to launch and gain scale in credit access capability
Qualifications

• Analytical and Problem Solving Skills: You are very comfortable with data and use analytics to make decisions. You have an ability to solve problems quickly and you establish sound frameworks to make decisions
• Communication skills: You are able to work effectively with a broad group of partners from technology to sales to business groups to deliver results.
• A high level of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity.
Additional Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in business analysis, consulting or product management. Experience in financial services / fintechs preferred.
• Strong understanding of economics of consumer and/or small business lending
• Experience in developing go-to-market plans for product launch
• The ideal candidate holds a degree in business management, economics, or engineering from a top tier university
