The Lead Specialist Financial Operations Valuation plays a leadership role in ensuring mutual fund pricing, unit value calculations and dividend/capital gain distributions are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Reviews accuracy and timeliness of reports and reconciliations.
Must be willing to work between 10:30a - 7:30p MST.
Primary Responsibilities
• Oversees daily processes of calculating and/or loading daily share prices, unit values and dividend/capital gain distributions into accounting and trading systems.
• Coordinates staff efforts in researching and correcting trial balance and/or dividend payment discrepancies.
• Involved in various departmental projects. This includes defining system requirements, overseeing new business conversions and leading efforts to streamline team processes.
• Reviews and sometimes prepares various monthly, quarterly and/or daily financial and regulatory reports for internal and external clients.
• Provides leadership in department deliverables and coordinates the work of less experienced staff including work distribution, establishment of deadlines, recruiting and training, setting objectives, conducting performance appraisals and recommending salary increases and promotions.
• Maintains procedures and documentation for team. This includes responding to ad hoc and audit requests and ensuring that team processes comply with appropriate standards and regulations
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Three years of experience in mutual fund operations preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work within prescribed deadlines.
• Must possess strong analytical/problem-solving, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
• This position requires submission of fingerprints to FINRA.
