The Senior Manager, Global Product Communications will be a member of the Global Brand Communications & Engagement team, reporting to the Director, Global Product Communications within the GABM (Global Advertising and Brand Management) team at American Express.
The GABM organization has a mission to create marketplace demand and drive commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative products, partnerships, marketing and customer experiences. GABM’s ultimate vision is to be the most creative department in the Fortune 500.
This role will support creation and execution of product advertising and integrated marketing communications for the Global Consumer and Global B2B business as well as marketing asset creation for our Global Centers of Excellence. The B35, Global Product Communications will bring to the role experience in the areas of advertising, marketing, and brand communications.
The role will entail working in a flexible team structure across multiple initiatives across business units and geographic regions (including: Global, US only, and International markets).
Specific responsibilities include:
• Contribute to the development of global product strategies, and suite of creative assets for the American Express Company worldwide, across our Consumer and B2B (Corporate and Merchant) business units
• Support creative asset development process from initial briefs through to live in market deployment, as well as the production for all media channels globally (including 360 communication channels across traditional and digital)
• Create marketing assets and templates that can be adapted by business units and brand marketing teams globally
• Leverage customer insights to direct, evaluate and adjust creative campaign elements to achieve better business outcomes
• Effectively collaborate with agency partners and inspire best in class creative
• Partner with American Express business units and centers of excellence to develop communications / messaging architectures and frameworks to ensure consistency of communication messaging across brand, product and business units
• Partner with GABM’s Global Brand Management & Planning, Media team, and agency partners as needed in development of 360 communication plans
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have significant marketing experience and a proven track record of developing strategic and tactical 360 communications, creative development, and media knowledge for a top brand. Ideal candidate is a creative thinker, recognized as being solutions-oriented and a collaborative team player. Specific qualifications:
• Subject matter expert – Brand, Marketing and 360 Communications expertise with substantial expertise in delivering marketing communications to B2C & B2C audiences
• Customer-centric thinker
• Proven track record in successfully leading development & delivery of 360 brand, marketing and communications initiatives and efficient platform implementation across range of markets / regions
• Strong creative instincts and judgment – proven ability to inspire and galvanize agency partners to deliver breakthrough creative solutions
• Collaborative mindset, curiosity and resiliency, with a sense of humor and passion to deliver best in class marketing in fast paced work environment
• Ability to effectively consult with, influence and partner with a range of stakeholders to ensure buy-in and adoption of multi market brand and marketing solutions
• Excellent relationship management skills - proven ability to build and strengthen relationships across all levels of management and across a multi-cultural environment
• International experience preferred – experience partnering successfully with range of International markets
• Demonstrate a passion for and ability to “live” the American Express brand
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
