Overall Job Summary
CNO Financial Group is seeking a Senior Business Risk Analyst. The Senior Business Risk Analyst is responsible for analyzing controls and efficiencies, while partnering with business unit management to develop viable solutions to remediate moderate to complex operational risk(s) for Information Technology, Infrastructure, Consumer Operations, and Distribution Operations areas. They will lead collaborative efforts with business partners to generate consistency across the organization, providing guidance as necessary to others within Operational Risk Management. The Senior Business Risk Analyst will review work of others to provide feedback for improved outcomes and timely delivery.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Partner with accountable parties to provide guidance and support development of remediation solutions
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure identified risks are remediated
• Formally document validation results and escalate outstanding risk(s)
• Complete work timely and accurately to ensure milestones are achieved
• Provide support to Business Risk Analysts and peers on assigned findings
• Host internal sessions to review effectiveness and efficiency of remediation activities
• Ensure documentation is current for accurate reporting
• Research industry best practices, share concepts/train peers, and apply principles to risk mitigation strategies
• Assist with evaluation and remediation monitoring of Risk Register items
• Assist with Risk Assessment process, including the evaluation and documentation of key processes and risks
• Actively participate in key initiatives or projects as assigned
• Identify issues that should be reviewed and/or escalated to higher levels of management
• Maintain departmental process and procedural documents
Core Skills, Knowledge
• Proven critical and analytical thinking skills with the ability to assess risks
• Risk Management, Audit, or insurance industry experience
• Experience in Information Technology or Information Security preferred
• Strong relationship management/teamwork skills, with experience negotiating a consensus
• Conflict and issue resolution
• Experience leading team members or providing supervisory guidance
• Excellent organization with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
• Collaboration experience, allowing for successful partnerships
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong initiative, work ethic, and flexibility
Critical Decisions
• Works independently on assignments, providing appropriate levels of communication while seeking approvals or escalations
• Determines appropriateness of remediation activities and identifies opportunities
Nature/Level of Supervision
• Accepts direction from Manager as needed
• Engagement/collaboration with multiple levels of management during remediation activities
• May provide feedback to Business Risk Analysts, as well as Senior Business Risks Analysts in relation to remediation assignments
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree
• 3-5 years previous experience in Risk Management, Audit, or insurance industry
• Experience in Information Technology or Information Security preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
