To develop and deliver communication strategies for divisional initiatives across various communication mediums and to a variety of targeted audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works with clients to develop an understanding of communication strategies for specified programs, services, and initiatives. Works with team members to provide communication solutions and set project time lines.
• Develops integrated communication plans for internal audiences including timing, conception, direction, roll out, and measurement.
• Writes and/or edits publications for division's crew as needed. Ensures that copy is clear, concise and accurate. Identifies and executes appropriate messages and approaches, maintains a writing style suitable for the audience, develops copy meets business objectives, and follows accepted Vanguard style and usage.
• Conducts recording sessions (e.g., crew interviews, events coverage) for multimedia deliverables. Reviews requirements and prepares production equipment to maximize video quality with attention to lighting, background, and sound quality. Edits video footage using Adobe Premier. Applies various editing techniques to achieve desired business objectives. Customizes video solutions using Adobe After Effects and other software products.
• Publishes content online. Works with approved content management system and other tools to develop and assemble pages and place within proper location. Works to ensure site quality and freshness. Follows corporate standards for page assembly process. Understands web design and usability principles.
• Assumes ownership of content development by researching subject matter and collaborating with subject matter experts and other internal contacts. Assists in researching ad hoc inquiries along with editing and revising material ensuring consistent tone and approach.
• Develops and maintains department key dates and communications calendar. Publishes and adheres to stated schedule, working with management to negotiate changes as needed, ensuring all materials are published in a timely manner and department events are planned and executed according to schedule.
• Works with CrewNet editors to suggest or provide content and article ideas about events, people, issues of importance to help ensure that division's crew and achievements get communicated internally and company wide.
• Acts as a communication expert, staying up to date with new communications strategies and techniques by attending conferences, reading, and networking with experts in the field to continue to develop expertise in communications. Determines ways to connect to groups such as Communications, HR Communications, and other Vanguard Communication areas to continually improve skills through shared experiences and review by other writers/editors, etc.
• Follows documentation and multimedia standards including writing/design/usability/etc., style guides, templates, style sheets and file naming systems. Follows regulatory and corporate communications standards, such as legal use of corporate logo, name and copyright.

Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three years experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex subject matter to a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership skills. Ability to lead team to desired conclusion.
• Self starter, able to work independently with minimal direction and develop practical responses to issues where there is no clear precedent.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills.
