Job Description
This position is responsible for adjusting entry level and intermediate level automobile or homeowner casualty claims within delegated settlement authority limits and in accordance with internal policies and procedures and state compliance.
Representative will investigate claims, gather necessary documentation, identify and manage appropriate reserves, negotiate and deliver timely settlements of claims. Also will look to identify and research process/procedure gaps and develop plans to address.
Responsibilities
• Investigate, evaluate and negotiate entry level and intermediate level casualty claims with insureds, claimants, attorneys and medical professionals. Identify, open and maintain appropriate reserves throughout life of claim (average claim life span is 10 months). Demonstrate understanding between appropriate reserving and financial implications to company.
• Manage file through by securing necessary documents through written or phone interactions and properly documenting activity in the claims system. Utilize alternative investigative and settlement techniques.
• Identify and research process/procedure gaps and develop action plans to close the gaps.
Required Qualifications
• 1-3 years of prior insurance claims experience.
