Information and Insights is a department within Capital Group’s Investment Operations, with presence in Southern California, London, and Singapore. Information and Insights is focused on a number of business critical activities such as uncovering and explaining the “why” of fund and portfolio results, supporting the Capital System through portfolio structures and analyst indices, and ensuring all data is compliant with regulatory and professional standards, just to name a few.
As a Portfolio Performance Associate based in Los Angeles, you will be responsible for will include validation, maintenance, reporting and analysis of the results of the capital system portfolios.
Responsibilities:
• Measure performance by calculating, validating, maintaining, and interpreting portfolio results for retail mutual funds, institutional accounts, composites, Portfolio Managers, and Research Analysts
• Evaluate performance using portfolio attribution, style analysis, benchmark analysis, transaction and holding analysis (portfolio concentration, portfolio turnover, etc.)
• Explain calculations to clients, research issues, and fulfill ad hoc requests
• Participate in departmental projects while partnering with other business units such as our Information Technology Group
• Optimize processes by automating, enhancing or developing new, to mitigate risks
• Troubleshoot system issues, research transaction posting, or evaluate how to process and report new investment types
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, management information systems, or other quantitative fields required
• 2+ years of analytical/quantitative business role experience
• Domain knowledge in performance measurement and attribution
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and processes
• Interpersonal savvy with an ability to work effectively in a team environment
• High degree of service orientation, integrity, and accountability
