Position Overview
This opportunity as an Internal Audit Senior is for an individual who thrives on innovation and making a difference in a large financial organization. The individual will enjoy learning and developing knowledge of the financial industry in risk management, Capital Markets, and audit techniques. Your Work Falls Into Three Primary Categories:
Audit
• The Audit of Capital Market and Enterprise (ACME) team audits a variety of areas including; Enterprise Risk Management and various Investments & Capital Market processes, including, securities trading desks, treasury and debt functions, middle and back office functions, market risk management, liquidity risk management, and counterparty and credit risk management.
• As an Audit Senior for the ACME audit team, you will assess risks and controls, develop audit procedures, perform control testing, and facilitate reporting in each individual audit. You may also be tasked with issue follow-ups to close audit findings.
Administrative
• Assist with allocating and scheduling resources, generating reports for management and audit committee and the annual planning.
• Assist with specific control initiatives, firm-wide process changes or conduct special investigations.
Communication
• You will coordinate with the other audit team members, keep IA management updated on progress, communicate with the business client, identify deficiencies in the control design and operating effectiveness and provide recommendations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Typically has 2 to 4 years of experience, including previous experience in public accounting, risk management or internal audit
• Good understanding of the financial services industry and the secondary mortgage markets
• Experience in audit methodology and risk/controls assessments
• Demonstrated ability to build professional relationship and rapport with clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills
• Advanced degree
• Financial Institution or Big 4 experience is highly preferred.
• CFA, CPA and/or CIA certifications.
