Description
New opportunity for experienced syndications professional to assure syndicated loan and execution through new business opportunities and due diligence, marketing, and deal structuring.
Essential Responsibilities
Support the Loan Syndications group head as a syndications officer to ensure successful origination and execution of Syndicated Loans.
New Business Opportunities & Due Diligence
• Originate new business opportunities and support deal execution as needed
• Lead deal team's due diligence efforts
•Oversee work product of junior team members, including financial modeling, financial and industry analysis, screening memos and credit packages. Willing to take on the tasks of the junior team members when the situation calls for it
Marketing
• Interpret comparable market transactions to find trends in pricing, tenor and covenant structures
• Oversee the compilation of marketing and research materials including: overview of current market conditions, term sheets, and comparable transaction analysis
• Coordinate activities with Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, Portfolio Managers and Risk Managers, and other product groups
Deal Structuring, Underwriting & Execution
• Work with the Group Head and credit partners to structure transactions
• Oversee underwriting efforts for syndicated and certain bilateral loans, including reviewing underwriting packages, spreads, risk adjusted return models and credit agreements
• Negotiate engagement and credit documents
• Coordinate execution of the Syndicated Loan product, including: (1) managing deal execution activities (2) preparation of the Confidential Information Memorandum and Lender Presentations in conjunction with junior team members along with other related tasks
• Clearly communicate transaction and borrower-related merits, credit risks and mitigates with an understanding of the financial, business and legal considerations
• Ensure proper booking of exposure on internal systems & document distributions
• Liaise with the Director of Syndications Support to ensure smooth loan closings
Others:
• Mentor junior team members
• Track and follow trends in the syndicated loan market
• Other tasks and business development functions as may be assigned by the Group Head

Requirements
Requirements:
• 10+ years of commercial or investment banking experience including 4+ years of loan syndications experience that included client and bank group presentations. Equivalent education can be substituted for some of the years of experience
• Relationship Management and Deal Origination experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations to senior management and other executives
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in areas such as corporate finance, commercial lending, leveraged finance and enterprise value lending
• Excellent cash flow modeling, financial statement analysis, and accounting skills / knowledge
• Resourceful self-starter; able to work autonomously
• Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem solving abilities
• Strong organization, planning, and follow-through skills
• Team player with highest level of integrity, maturity, and an exceptional work ethic
Desired Skills:
• MBA or a Graduate Degree in related areas
• Experience negotiating, executing, and syndicating transactions with private equity sponsors
• Completion of a bank-sponsored credit or capital markets training program
• Experience with middle market lending a plus
