Job Description
This highly visible position is responsible for consulting with financial advisors and RIA’s on portfolio construction, asset allocation, investment strategy and vehicle analysis, and the use of alternatives in portfolios. The successful candidate must possess deep and broad knowledge of financial markets, investment products, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and alternatives. The person must possess excellent communication skills and utilize a consultative approach. This role requires close interaction with the Investment Division and Intermediary Sales.
Key Accountabilities:
• A value-add resource JHI sales people can offer to high-end advisors and RIA’s to assist in portfolio construction.
• Conduct face to face meetings with clients or conduct training presentations on latest ideas on asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk budgeting and use of alternatives within a portfolio.
• Complete “mail-in” portfolio reviews for enhancement recommendations.
• Apply diagnostic tests to these portfolios looking to uncover unintended bets, imbalances, and deficiencies
• Evaluate the competitive landscape to learn the key differentiators of competitor products and understand product options and how they can help achieve different client goals
• Investigate, explore, and identify tools, techniques, and metrics relating to risk measurement and portfolio construction and to increase client satisfaction
• Responsible for maintenance and development of client reporting packages, including content, design, portfolio measurement/benchmarking
• Generate risk and performance reports using a variety of software applications
Recommended Experience
• Graduate degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
• CFA Preferred
• 15+ years of experience in the investment industry
