Core Responsibilities
• Manage a team of 4 professionals in support of both institutional and intermediary distribution channels, including RFP Writers and an RFP Data Specialist responsible for consultant databases and AUM and personnel reporting.
• Build a strong understanding of QMA’s core Institutional business and growth areas such as International and US Intermediary, in order to add value to the completion of RFPs, DDQs, consultant questionnaires and databases.
• Ensure the RFP team is maintaining a balance between timely execution and planning for growth, including introducing industry best practices and effective use of new technologies.
• Develop scalable workflow model among the RFP team members, including effective use of CRM and RFP/Data platforms.
• Provide strategic insight and participate in broader discussions regarding products and placement of them in databases as well as in the vetting process for new RFP opportunities.
• Apply firm and product knowledge while drafting, editing and/or refining responses, ensuring a consistent training program to ensure all team members are up to date.
• Maintain and continue to improve structured processes maximizing efficiency and the utilization of technology.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships within and outside the distribution group, including sales and consultant relations professionals, client service, client portfolio managers, legal, compliance and vendors.
• Ensure the timely maintenance and accuracy of consultant and third party databases.
• Review and refine processes for collection, input and updating of data.
• Test data periodically for accuracy and integrity; ensure a comprehensive annual review of all qualitative data is completed in conjunction with the respective investment teams.
• Successfully manage and develop staff in order to create a challenging and motivating work environment.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree with ideally 10+ years of work experience.
• Thorough understanding of the investment management business, products and services preferably within multi-asset and equity platforms.
• Experience in handling multiple distribution channels and overseas markets.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and create empowered, effective team that works effectively in a deadline driven environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage, coach and develop a team of varying levels of experience in multiple locations.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external parties (prospects, consultants, clients, vendors).
• Strong project management, organization, planning and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical ability and creative problem solving skills.
