Job Purpose (Job Summary):
Department Summary
Americas Product & Market Research (APMR) team is responsible for providing in-depth product, market, and competitive insight/analysis to internal business partners. The group provides market intelligence to support product development/ rationalization efforts, strategic product line initiatives and product positioning efforts through careful analysis of the competitive marketplace. APMR works with a wide array of internal clients including Product Development, Product Management, the Invesco Board, Legal/Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and the various investment teams. APMR brings value to the firm and our clients by being a knowledgeable resource on products managed across the firm regardless of investment center and asset class as well as having the knowledge and ability to integrate product and market research to facilitate informed decision making.
The Product Analyst for the Americas Product & Market Research unit will participate in a variety of investment product-related research projects and initiatives. Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Conducting and integrating industry, competitor and product research and analysis through the use of third-party databases and research tools
• Support North American institutional distribution channels in addition to various internal business partners in product-related inquiries including the creation of competitive intelligence to identify strengths, weaknesses and points of differentiation between Invesco and competitors
• Maintain production of selected recurring reports
• Participate on special projects as needed
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Proficient use of third-party databases and research tools:
• Understands the full functionality of available research tools covering separate accounts, mutual funds, commingled trusts, and other vehicles
• Examples of competitor databases and tools include Morningstar Direct, eVestment, Zephyr StyleADVISOR, Mercer Insight, and Style Research
• Utilizes expertise on third-party databases for ongoing and ad hoc competitor and market research, pairing the right tool(s) with each request
Support US institutional distribution channel in product-related inquiries:
• Supports North American Institutional sales efforts through direct and indirect product work
• Provides relevant and thorough information related to investment performance, process, positioning, and characteristics. Typical examples include:
• Assisting in competitive or complementary sales efforts through ad hoc analysis
• Working directly with sales professionals in the development of supporting materials and information
• Assisting with product-related questions on Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
Provide competitive intelligence to various internal business partners:
• Supports Product Managers and Client Portfolio Managers in identifying and tracking key competitors and uncovering potential takeover opportunities
• Assists Invesco’s North American product development efforts by providing research on peer group construction, historical performance, and pricing-related information
• Supports Invesco’s strategic planning efforts by producing analysis on overall competitive position and strengths/weaknesses of specific products
• Works with the Investment Readiness team on investment strategy-related projects as required
Maintain production of selected recurring reports:
• Generates quarterly reports related to performance, characteristics, and flows
• Identifies opportunities to enhance content, formatting, or efficiency on an ongoing basis
• Coordinates with other internal teams such as Global Performance Measurement and Risk as needed
Participate on special projects as needed:
• Assumes a supporting role in larger, more complex projects and may have a leading role in smaller, less complex projects
Qualifications
Work Experience / Knowledge:
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry is necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position

Formal Education:
(minimum requirement to perform job duties)
• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field is required
Working Conditions:
• Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and extreme temperatures
• Typically works hours consistent with the hours of various financial markets and may be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignments
• Required to push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds; frequent sitting, standing and walking
