Job Responsibilities
• Work with Group Reward to develop, enhance and implement a short term and long term compensation strategy.
• Lead the development and implementation of new compensation programs including a leadership role in the year-end compensation planning process to ensure effective and efficient program delivery and communication.
• Oversee the design and competitive benchmarking for incentive plans to ensure that the plans are effective, competitive and aligned to business requirements.
• Create administrative processes to maintain and ensure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations by monitoring and responding to new and emerging legislation that impacts compensation and benefits programs; interact with internal and external legal counsel; present proposed programs, prepare maintain required documents; and educate cross-functional teams and departments regarding issues and implications to ensure compliance.
• Assist HR leadership in developing strategies by analyzing and understanding pending and proposed legislation related to compensation and benefits; advise of the impact of legislation on company and employees.
• Provide strong oversight to benefits vendors to ensure that service delivery is high quality and operationally efficient.
• Manage and negotiate relationships with benefit brokers and vendors, program vendors and consultants for services premiums and program administration.
• Administer 401(k) retirement plans and audits in the U.S. and administer pension plans in Canada and Mexico.
• Perform annual DOL 5500 filings and compliance & non-discrimination tests on all of our U.S. benefit plans.
• Administer N.A. Worker’s Compensation plans.
• Manage and administer short term and long term disability leave.
• Liaise with payroll to ensure
• Lead and engage Benefits Committee and Investment Committee.
• Lead on benefit plan transitions during M&A activity.
• Review existing technology used for compensation and benefit administration and make recommendations for enhancements or enhanced efficiencies.
• Participate on cross – functional teams on technology projects.
• Own relationships with N.A. vendors and manage the annual renewal activities, contract negotiations and request for proposal process.
• Responsible for the development of various communications, such as plan documents, plan changes and employee notices.
• Research best practices through surveys and other sources of industry information. Oversee the effective use of market data to recommend competitive, innovative and cost-effective compensation and benefit plans.
• Lead compensation and benefits team in support of the business development function including Request for Proposal research and analysis contract award start up / close out activities.
• Lead the N.A. Wellbeing program and align with Group Wellbeing program
• Administer domestic relocation program and manage vendor relationship.
• Partner with Global HR colleagues on worldwide HR initiatives and leverage best practices to deliver and support multi-business units globally.
• Assists with delivering HR strategy and prioritizing and executing multiple initiatives and projects aimed at supporting the performance, development, reward, diversity & inclusion, engagement and retention of employees
• N.A. Reward Lead supporting the Group Head of Reward in planning and delivery of projects and programs aligned with delivery of the overall HR, Reward Business, M&A and Location strategy
• Develops and maintains partnerships with senior decision-makers to effectively achieve business results and manage complex HR and Reward activities.
• Perform other duties as required.
Experience/Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and generally demonstrable years of HR experience required. Advance degree (MBA) is preferred. Finance experience strongly preferred. Professional certifications (SPHR, CCP, CEBS, etc.) preferred.
• Knowledge of leading practices and external trends in compensation, benefits and HR technology systems.
• Demonstrated track record and expertise in building, leading and managing a successful Total Rewards/Compensation and Benefits function, designing and developing compensation strategies and plans.
• Knowledge of legal environment of compensation and benefits at Federal, State and Local levels. Experience in compliance with regulations for example, FLSA, ACA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, and FMLA & HIPAA.
• Previous experience leading, managing and building teams in a fast-paced dynamic environment. High energy and drive to create an environment of continuous improvement, high performance and engagement.
• Excellent executive presence and leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence to senior level leaders and other key stakeholders.
• Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
• Successfully lead and deploy HR projects and complex change programs across multi-site multinational businesses such as M&A integrations.
• Organized and able to work to detail and to deadlines but flexible enough to adapt according to business needs.
• Proven communication, consulting, interpersonal, and influencing and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle high visibility issues with potential client, reputational and expense related impact and/or exposure.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of management globally
• Ability to shift priorities in a fast-paced environment and act as a point of connection across various parts
