Produces expert-level video and motion graphics design services to create effective and engaging multimedia experiences. Visual storyteller who effectively uses cinematic techniques to solve communication challenges. Consults, conceptualizes, produces, and edits high-quality and innovative video media for key external audience(s).
Duties & Responsibilities
• Leads multimedia/video strategy by analyzing and determining the business objective, target audience and purpose. Applies productive questioning skills to understand business goals and assesses information to uncover ways to deliver effective and efficient multimedia solutions for major business initiatives. Acts as consultant to the business on marketing communications strategy and develops direction for messaging, visuals, and overall story. Collaborates with cross-divisional business partners and leverages data, industry best practices and expert knowledge to best plan methods of multimedia distribution and promotion.
• Conceptualizes, pitches and executes strategic multimedia solutions. Translates business needs into multimedia that captures the desired positioning. Ensures that content translates well to rich media and is focused on the audience. Understands business in order to shape content for target audience. Approaches problems from different angles and presents alternate solutions when challenged with obstacles to ensure project success and achieve desired business results. Works with cross-functional project teams to brainstorm, plan, prioritize, and complete projects.
• Produces strategically-targeted and integrated digital media deliverables. Manages projects through all phases including pre-production, production, and post-production. Determines production schedule and communicates delivery dates. Plans and organizes recording schedule and coordinates with video talent. Produces video, directs crew and talent, designs and builds graphics, and edits video. Updates business partners and senior management throughout the planning and production life cycle of projects and communicates updates. Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Monitors project progress against plan, timeline, and budget. Anticipates problems and takes action to keep projects on track. Completes projects efficiently and accurately to meet client/campaign commitments.
• Facilitates knowledge sharing and to serve as a leader and expert in multimedia and related emerging channels. Keeps abreast of emerging and evolving technology to serve as a leader for introducing new and innovative approaches and techniques to marketing communications. Enhances Vanguard's knowledge of the best ways to apply new technology. Continuously researches new techniques and concepts. Demonstrates strong leadership impact and models unquestionable ethics and integrity. Trains and mentors junior staff. Energizes, inspires, and coaches other members of the creative team.
• Builds strong working relationships and networks to collaborates with others. Coaches video talent, including senior leadership, on performing on-camera to ensure they are well-prepared and comfortable. Directs crew and talent during recordings. Persuades and educates business partners on best practices for developing and deploying video content.
• Creates standards for and refines multimedia project intake and production process, adapting as needed. Champions and interprets graphic brand standards, complies with legal and intellectual property regulations. Manages multimedia-related equipment, software needs, and inventory, and makes recommendations on upgrades with a focus on cost and quality.
• Participates in other projects and performs other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:
• Undergraduate degree in film, video production or equivalent experience is required. Graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of general experience and five years of directly related creative/marketing industry experience.
• Expert in motion graphic design and animation theory and best practices
• Proven experience in expert communication skills (storytelling, conceptualization, visualization) and the ability to get buy-in on ideas within a large, matrixed organization.
• Proven experience in managing client relationships and/or external relationships. Ability to interact at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively and collaboratively with others across functions.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder
• Experience managing projects through full life cycle
• Experience with distribution best practices and data analysis, familiarity of trends
• Experience creating video for social media and web
• Proficient in directing and coaching production crew and talent
• Proficient in camera/audio hardware, DSLRs, lighting
• Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and ability to function in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Special Factors:
Limited travel or extended off-hour support may be required.
