We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for Human Resources support for DSA Re, an AIG business unit with investor partnership through The Carlyle Group (TCG). You will work with the business and HR colleagues to provide end-to-end human resources coordination to include internal marketing and communications, HR project tracking, interview scheduling, employment verifications, completing employment forms, offer letter generation, managing background checks, answering employee questions, running on site employee events and engagement activities, conducting new hire orientation, managing personnel files and new hire paperwork, ensuring compliance with posting requirements, attendance tracking and corrective action administration, and wellness program administration.
In the early stages, this role will partner with various COEs and HR Specialists to learn AIG’s processes, evaluate effectiveness for DSA Re, and assist in documenting and transitioning HR activities. End state will be for the DSA Re HR organization to be free standing from AIG. The position will report to the Head of HR for DSA Re.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Create internal communication plans and standards. Write and share internal communications. Ensure consistent internal and employment brand marketing. Creates materials for employment and internal events.
• Develop Town Hall and other employee communication schedules. Ensure leadership has the opportunity to interact with employees. Determine frequency and audiences of messaging.
• Track status of HR Separation Activities, Employee Engagement and Workforce Planning initiatives, and other HR projects which are critical to the business’ and the HR team’s success
• Conduct candidate phone screens, greet candidates, schedule interviews and ensure appropriate follow up
• Respond to employment verification requests. Complete employment-related forms.
• Generate offer letters and ensure accurate new hire paperwork collection and filing
• Conduct and manage background checks and reference checks
• Answer employee questions and ensure the necessary resources are available to our workforce
• Manage employee events and engagement activities. Review employee survey results to determine the appropriate action plans are developed and executed.
• Maintain employee files in compliance with state and local laws. Provide access to employee information as required or necessary, including review of performance feedback and data.
• Ensure compliance with posting requirements, such as safety and minimum wage posters in employee areas
• Track employee time and attendance. Partner with managers to deliver progressive corrective action steps in agreement with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Manage the wellness program to include annual flu shots, benefits fairs and other employee benefit programs which promote health and well-being
• Create framework, and administer local employee enrichment groups to promote diversity, inclusion and engagement. Encourage participation in such programs.
• Analyze employee data, such as payroll, benefits, performance and demographic, to draw insights for future needs and planning. Create action plans with the management team.
• Process invoices for HR related expenses
• Attend HR networking and early careers events to represent DSA Re and the HR organization
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or 4+ years of human resources, communications or marketing experience
• Strong interest in personal and professional career growth with a track record of continual learning
• Effective communication and coaching skills; ability to present complex information effectively to various audiences
• Ability to build relationships, internally and externally; Experience working independently and on a team
• Strong problem solving abilities; demonstrated analytical and project management skills
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly; aptitude to learn about the industry, organization, market, products and services
• Previous experience with, and examples of, process improvement, formal or informal leadership experiences, and progressive experience within a team or department
