Supervise the personnel and activities of the treasury processing area for the benefit of the company and all operating subsidiaries by providing efficient and effective leadership of the team. Monitor and maintain adequate internal controls over cash transactions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain efficient and effective workflow and staffing within the department to ensure that daily processing is timely and deadlines are met. Supervise accounting and reporting of financial data in the following areas: Accounts Receivable – including efficient lockbox processing and live check procedures; Accounting – journal entry preparation and processing, account reconciliations; Treasury - bank relationships, positive pay processes, stop payments, void and stale checks; Provide training, direction and support to fit individual needs and development goals of team members. Monitor progress toward divisional, department and individual goals.
Develop, implement and maintain effective policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility. Promote a strong, effective internal control structure in treasury and in other departments collecting or disbursing funds. Provide technical assistance to department members, auditors, and other company management and employees regarding accounting practices and procedures for areas of responsibility.
Participate in the daily administration of bank balancing and wire transfer activity, and assist treasury management on projects as assigned.
Administer all treasury processing systems and related software including installations, upgrade, and maintenance. Assess requirements for information system needs and improvements; coordinate testing and implementation of system modifications, upgrades and acquisitions.
Oversee processes that provide timely stale dating of checks and unclaimed property reporting. Assist Corporate Legal with unclaimed property audits. Ensure periodic training is provided to business areas on unclaimed property regulations, such as due diligence requirements.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field.
Experience: 5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial processing (cash management, AR, AP, etc.), development and maintenance of internal accounting controls, administration of related information systems, and supervisory experience, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
Professional certification required: None.
