Position Description
This position is a part of Ally Invest Advisors and is primarily responsible for supervising, monitoring and managing Operations and Client Services for Managed Portfolios. This includes oversight of operations and trading functions including managing client suitability information and allocations, rebalancing of accounts, order processing, funds movement and reporting. The role will also be responsible for management of Client Services and other activities such as cashiering, ACH transfers and account liquidations.
The role will work with Risk & Compliance to assist in issue identification, risk, special projects and initiatives. This role will also work with the Digital Product team to help build out the platform and client offering for Ally Invest Advisors.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in a Financial Brokerage Services industry with experience with portfolio rebalancing, trading of large portfolios and/or brokerage operations. Direct interaction with clients, other brokers and internal support staff will be a part of the candidate's everyday routine.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage and perform trade execution and trade operations for a large scale institutional managed portfolio offering including initial investment, ongoing automated rebalancing and liquidation processes.
• Perform trading activities including monitor cash flows, pre-trade analytics, order placement, allocation using proprietary systems and trade incident/error management.
• Maintain daily reporting and reconciliation activities in accordance with written procedures.
• Maintain and monitor client suitability information and investment recommendations for managed portfolio clients.
• Responsible for maintenance of Ally Invest Advisors Operations Procedures.
• Escalate and communicate issues real time to internal partners such as Risk, Compliance, Product and Brokerage.
• Partner with Risk to identify and remediate identified issues (related to account information, trading, liquidations, etc).
• Communicate concerns to Product and Brokerage partners for permanent improvement
• Ensure accurate record keeping in order to keep the firm compliant, work closely with Compliance team to research and resolve client's complaints
• Understand, comply, maintain and reinforce regulatory and firm policies and procedures/guidelines
• Review and sign off on all assigned daily work
• Monitor and supervise service channels; manage schedules and employees to ensure customers are supported
• Monitor service channels for accuracy and quality assurance in real time.
• Assist representatives in problem resolution in real time
• Provide quality service and effective and efficient operations support the assigned area's internal business partners and/or external customers and clients
Qualifications
1. Qualifications
1. Knowledge:
◦ Deep understanding of trading execution and brokerage applications in managed account context.
◦ Understanding of risk management, best execution, and trade compliance
◦ Knowledge and understanding of ETF structure and trading; Understanding of portfolio management and financial planning concepts
◦ Strong communicator who can effectively process constructive feedback while always keeping the corporate and end user goals in mind.
◦ Excellent oral and written communication with strong emphasis on grammar and strong desire to provide an exceptional customer experience
2. Education & Experience
◦ 3-5 years of prior investment or operations related experience
◦ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience
◦ FINRA Series 7, 63 and 66 or 65, 4, 24 licenses preferred.
3. Skills:
◦ Detail oriented and process oriented.
◦ Ability to maintain regular reporting and routines.
◦ Strong analytical and communication skills.
◦ Strong excel, Salesforce and database skills. Solid experience in brokerage systems & Microsoft applications
◦ Experience in leveraging organizational skills to support client needs, focusing on execution, accuracy and efficiency.
◦ Able to exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks with little notice.
