The Global Finance Group partners with other Capital Group departments to proactively provide relevant, timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, innovative solutions and other insightful information that impacts business decision-making while protecting company interests.
As a Senior Accountant on the Accounts Payable Compliance team based in San Antonio, TX, you will work independently on a variety of tasks including business license taxes, withholding taxes, property taxes, rent, lease accounting, goods & services taxes, and related accruals. Additionally, there are opportunities for identifying process improvements including automation and involvement with company initiatives impacting Global Finance.
Responsibilities:
• Support monthly close cycle activities, prepare account reconciliations, apply variance analysis to calculations, and perform journal entries
• Compile information for monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings which requires the review of transaction postings, evaluating materials for completeness and accuracy
• Assist in gathering documentation in response to audit or information requests from State tax authorities or outside tax consultants.
• Tracking of company leases and updating lease schedules according to site activity including preparation of annual lease commitment schedule for our internal audit
• Identify and propose process improvements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance required
• 2-5 years of experience in accounting, auditing and/or tax required
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity with an exceptional standard of quality involving accuracy, attention to detail, organization and self-review skills, thoughtful analysis and problem-solving, effective collaborating skills and accountability for excellent results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of SAP or other ERP system
