Job Description
Support business decision-making by providing analysis that leads to solutions for business issues, while making recommendations for action as appropriate. Support projects from concept through implementation. Be the liaison between business leaders, staff, utility functions, and at times external parties. Ensure there is information exchange that facilitates the team's ability to accomplish the business objectives.
Responsibilities
• Support business decision-making by providing analysis that leads to recommendations and options for solutions.
• Follow the department's standards for planning, communicating and execution of analysis for Annuity & Insurance deliverables.
• Identify, communicate, and implement process improvements.
• Engage subject matter experts to elicit requirements and effectively communicate via documentation, process maps and visuals.
• Facilitate requirement reviews and approvals by business, technology and leaders.
• Prepare presentations, and communications for project managers and leaders regarding status, deliverable reviews, and approvals.
• Support technology analysis and design to ensure understanding and alignment to the business requirements.
• Provide subject matter expertise in areas including strategy/approach, requirements elicitation, process modeling, use cases and other areas of expertise based on established business analysis tools and techniques.
• Facilitate project change management, leveraging change control process and templates.
• Use the Ameriprise tool sets, including Project Central, Ameriprise Quality Management System (AQMS) documentation and Quality Center.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelors degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business and functional requirements elicitation, translation and documentation.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills and ability to use statistical analysis and modeling, with associated technology applications.
• Knowledge of and ability to effectively use the appropriate requirements elicitation methodologies and toolsets, requirements visualization methods, and artifact versioning tools.
• Strong relationship skills in working with colleagues, and influencing customers on recommendations and analysis.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated experience in facilitating meetings.
• In-depth knowledge of business operations and processes with the ability to articulate these processes to others.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple relationships across the organization, and at times with external parties and clients.
• Experience acting as liaison among business leaders, staff and utility functions to gather information and share best practices, and to ensure initiatives are executed appropriately.
• Demonstrated experience in synthesizing business information and incorporating this information into project plans working with the project manager or lead.
• Experience working within a defined development life cycle methodology (e.g. CMMI, Ameriprise Quality Management System (AQMS) environment.
• Intermediate Excel skill level: Proper usage of IF, VLOOKUP, LEN, LEFT, RIGHT, MID, DATE, TEXT functions; full command of filters; Usage of simple conditional formats (usually to highlight error checks); Chart creation and ability to manipulate axis as desired; A basic understanding of Excel's data model (values vs presentation, dates are represented by numbers).
