Description
The VP, Wintrust Mortgage Strategic Projects reports to the SVP, Corporate Services and is responsible for leading a team of project managers in the Strategic Project space. This team is responsible for leading multi-disciplinary projects that require a broad knowledge of the organization and key functions. As the VP, you are responsible for working with the business to identify and prioritize opportunities for process, technology, product and change related projects while leading the execution of strategic projects and change initiatives using proven lifecycle methodologies. You will work closely with the Enterprise PMO to ensure Wintrust Mortgage is following the change management process and executing projects within the approved framework.
As the VP, Strategic Projects, primary responsibilities include:
• Leads multiple cross-business unit programs and project teams to deliver significant business results/deliverables. Builds an organized project management capability that effectively plans for and executes strategic projects.
• Builds a culture of curiosity to understand business drivers and requirements in order to deliver solutions to address business issues and problems.
• Directs teams through project lifecycle from ideation to project execution and approval.
• Manages and directs overall project team activities and monitors progress, including project health, capacity planning, developing and mentoring staff, and internal process improvement activity.
• Builds partnerships with Enterprise PMO and ensures alignment with change management process. Ensures project sponsors are prepared for requirements related to Initiatives Committee (IC) and Change Committee (CHGC).
• Communicates effectively with Executive team across multiple channels. Prepares Executive Management Reports that articulate plans, status and complex issues concisely and create transparency with Executive team.
• Manages budget for assigned projects, monitors progress and adjusts resources/priorities as needed.
• Actively works with Corporate Services teams to drive communication and change management practices into project lifecycle (i.e. Compliance, Learning & Development, Vendor Management).
• Builds cohesive, winning teams through strong communication and involvement of all team members. Ensures team alignment with strategic goals and changing business needs.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant experience (program management, change management, project management)
• 5+ years of management experience
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships; able to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building with all levels of the business
• Proven leader
• Established track record of delivery in a complex environment
• Analytical and process-oriented mindset; strong critical thinking and decision making skills
• Enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire others
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
• Strong project management methodology and techniques
• Advanced MS Office Suite
