At CoBank, the Benefits Analyst administers and communicates the bank’s and participating employers’ benefit programs. Provides day-to-day support of benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, continuation, short- and long-term disability, flexible spending, 401(k) and defined benefit retirement plans. Interacts with employees and provides guidance regarding plan options, policy features, enrollment and other requirements. May be involved with communication and implementation of wellness and health education initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides information on and guidance to employees regarding benefit enrollments, eligibility, benefit coverage, changes and updates, and continuation processing for employee benefit plans.
• Processes group insurance invoices for monthly billing for all benefit vendors. Periodically audits eligibility lists to ensure on-going accuracy.
• Prepare wires for benefit plan funding.
• Assists with creation and maintenance of benefits content on web-based applications. Ensures information is updated in a timely manner and that out-dated information is removed.
• Reviews, validates and maintains data integrity between plan data, payroll systems, and HRIS databases.
• Prepares and maintains current procedures for all benefits-related processes performed.
• Partners with CoBank benefits team to provide additional support when needed during renewal, annual open enrollment, vendor conversions, quarterly Welfare Benefits Committee and Retirement Trust Committee meetings, Plan audits and mass employee communications.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or other relevant discipline.
• Three (3) or more years of relevant experience, preferably supporting corporate benefits; or an appropriate combination of education and experience.

Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of benefit plan administration, vendor billing activities and familiarity with state and federal regulations affecting employee benefits.
• Ability to understand customer needs and apply appropriate recommendations.
• Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism while working with confidential HR information.
• Ability to deal tactfully with challenging employee questions and situations on the telephone, by email and in person.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage workload and projects in order to navigate peaks, prioritize competing commitments, and complete assignments in accordance with established deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, follow through and customer service orientation.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate, collaborate, communicate and work effectively with associates and management at all levels across the bank, as well as outside customers and vendors.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with strong proficiency in Excel (i.e. vlookups, pivot tables, etc.).
• Experience with HRIS (i.e. Ceridian Dayforce)
