Empower Retirement is currently seeking a 401(k) Account Manager for our operations in either downtown Milwaukee or the Denver Tech Center. This person will be the primary contact for a specified block of mid size 401(k) business, and is responsible for overall client satisfaction on the assigned business. You will need to effectively use available resources to independently resolve a variety of issues, including inquiries on Compliance, the Plan Administrators website, Tax Reporting, Audits, Re-Pricing of contracts, Broker commissions, Investment Options, Plan and Contract Terminations and all related SEC and IRS guidelines. In addition, you will need to have knowledge of ERISA and IRS codes 401(a), 401(k), Profit Sharing and related retirement plans. This is a non-commissioned, salaried position.
Primary Responsibilities
• Effectively use available resources to independently resolve a variety of issues with all levels of clients, including inquiries on Compliance, the Plan Administrators website, Tax Reporting, Audits, Re-Pricing of contracts, Broker commissions, Investment Options, Plan and Contract Terminations and all related SEC and IRS guidelines.
• Respond to Plan Sponsors in a professional and timely manner concerning issues or questions.
• Respond to clients by reviewing and responding to incoming e-mail volume.
• Promote client retention and identify opportunities to build existing relationships through timely service quality.
• Proactively communicate with Advisors, Third Party Administrators and Plan Sponsors to discuss efficiency training and education, helping them manage and grow their business.
• Provide value - add solutions to increase operational efficiencies within the client and their retirement plan operations.
• Collaborate with internal partners in delivery of timely and accurate information in response to inquiries and/or service issues.
• Assist with the introduction of new products and services.
• Research and respond to client retirement plan questions.
• Resolve complex situations or requests. This includes but is not limited to: operational enhancements, researching historical transactions and complaints.
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in business related field
• At least two years of experience with Retirement Plans or other retirement plan administration, including knowledge of Basic Plan Documents and Adoption Agreements.
• Strong customer contact skills, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Team orientation with the ability to act as a resource for development of the team's effectiveness.
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics.
• Ability to multi-task, including speaking with customers over the phone, assessing their needs, researching information on the computer and providing clients with options at one time.
• Managing multiple tasks and projects.
• Thorough knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Established problem solving skills, with limited supervision.
