The Project Management Senior Associate - Operations is accountable to executive sponsors for schedule, budget, and quality of on-going complex projects which may have many related projects managed within. The incumbent will apply broad, advanced project management
principles and concepts to large projects, and contribute to innovation of new concepts and ideas, and continuous process improvement. Program duties may not always fall within a defined subproject. The individual must be able to identify activities as either in or out of scope as they relate to the program objectives.
Essential Duties:
Manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationship to assure business needs are met, projects are delivered on time, and potential projects are managed, including:
a. Define and manage business case, program and project scope, goals, budget, schedule, resources, and deliverables that support business goals, and take appropriate steps to
ensure project objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.
b. Manage program and project risks / issues. Recognize and determine the appropriate corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and scope.
c. Identify and execute appropriate communication methods to meet stakeholder and senior leadership needs on the accurate status of a project
d. Create and maintain project documentation to identify, evaluate, scope, plan, monitor, and follow up on active projects
• May serve as a career advisor to office services employees and/or mentor to project managers and junior project team members
• Other duties as assigned
Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business related area or equivalent experience
• PMP Certification (preferred)
Technical/Soft Skills:
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (required)
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (preferred)
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Experience with MS Project, Workbench or related tool
• Understanding of Earned Value Management
• Applies technical/procedural requirements of the position based on knowledge and experience within specialization
• Effective organization and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
Experience:
• 5-8 years relevant experience
• Experience managing multiple projects of moderate to high risk
Leadership Skills:
• Ability to supervise, direct, and review the results of programs, projects or assignments
• Ability to lead by understanding team dynamics
• Ability to support, affect, and implement change
• Ability to impact and influence a diverse population
• Facilitate program discussions with senior BP&T management and business stakeholders
• Ability to attract, lead, motivate, and retain multiple teams
• Ability to manage at a macro level and identify when a refined approach is necessary
