Now let’s talk about the position:
As an Account Manager you will provide customer service to Commercial Property & Casualty clients and support to Property & Casualty Consultants and Marketers with the goal of client retention. You resolve client issues efficiently and accurately primarily through phone and electronic communication methods. You’ll utilize superior customer service skills to respond to client requests in methods that exceed their expectation. You are responsible for managing the client and prospect by being accessible and responsive to the Consultants and keeping them advised of deadlines and updates, serving internal and external customers in a positive, professional manner, and following all guidelines on confidentiality.
As an Account Manager you will:
• Develop and manage a large part of the client relationship by being an “inside” technical expert in property & casualty and a client advocate with the carriers. Solves and advises on practical problems faced by clients and/or prospects in the areas of insurance. Deals with clients on routine, sensitive or urgent topics and is able to provide answers and advice either immediately or within a reasonable period of time. Interprets a variety of insurance laws, regulations, policies, procedures and convey the information to clients either directly or through written communication.
• Proactively analyzes current insurance program upon renewal to check for large increase in premium rate, coverage amount, lack of recommended coverage, etc. Consults client on a renewal strategy, such as remarketing or insurance program enhancements.
• Markets clients (new and existing) to obtain quotations through online rating or direct submissions to underwriting. Cross-sells other line of insurance to existing customers when opportunities arise to round out the account and help grow the business. Advise clients of coverage enhancements, exposures, deductible options and/or multi-policy discounts that may apply.
• Anticipates client’s needs and proactively initiates communication and/or resolution through introductory calls (introducing the client to their service team, administrative procedures, and contact information), pro-active semi-annual service calls (reviewing recent services, upcoming seminars/webinars, use of their electronic services, etc.), and frequent updates during the life of an issue, client specific program support.
• Maintains client and policy information in the customer management system including policies, endorsements, new and renewal business. Organizes work flow to ensure timely, efficient processes. Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy to strive for any work presented to the client is error free
Qualifications
What it takes to be an Account Manager:
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• 2+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty experience, which could be achieved through any of the following: insurance agency or insurance carrier experience, or underwriting experience.
• Preference given to those licensed in Property & Casualty (will need to obtain within 3 months on hire)
