Job Description
Currently, we are seeking a talented Training Manager to join the Life Insurance Division in Aliso Viejo. The Life Insurance Division works with financial and insurance professionals to give families and businesses the life insurance coverage needed to help meet important financial protection, wealth accumulation, and wealth preservation goals.
Job Summary:
This experienced training leader will manage a staff of Instructional Designers (5). This person will have a demonstrated ability to:
• Develop staff in both technical and job performance skills including instructional design methodologies (ADDIE and SAM), organizational knowledge, writing and project management skills.
• Select and manage resources, set clear performance expectations and drive accountability
• Drive the creation of effective learning solutions and enhancements and maintenance of existing content libraries. Learning solutions include: traditional instructor-led workshops, virtual-led classroom training, a variety of eLearning solutions
• Implement the Life Division Training team’s vision through managing the execution of a wide-variety of initiatives including training on products, processes, regulations and technology.
• Ensure an effective needs analysis and measurement strategy to evaluate performance and demonstrate training’s impact on the employees and business goals.
• Optimize processes and ensure effective use of Learning Management system, training tools and department procedures
• Stay abreast of learning professional trends to ensure learning solutions support evolving requirements of Life Division users.
Factors for Success:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Four to six years managing a team of Learning Designers, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate employees. Proven ability to develop a cohesive, high-performing team.
• Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, online course design, classroom facilitation techniques, and training evaluation.
• Excellent writing, communication, project management and presentation skills.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
