Position Overview
The Internal Communications team helps employees understand, value, and engage with Freddie Mac. We do it by telling rich and inspiring stories about our company, our people, and our services.
The Digital Design & Content Professional will support the Internal Communications group with developing and managing content pages for the SharePoint-based intranet. A successful candidate will have creative, technical and communications skills to support our intranet publishing.
We are looking for a person who is both an html content manager and a storyteller at heart, creative, personable and energetic, who can drive for results and encourage new ideas and alternative approaches.
Responsibilities include:
• Work with communications strategists/writers, creative team, and production team to plan, create and modify content pages in Microsoft SharePoint Online (O365) daily.
• Create and manage lists, library, site columns, content types, document templates, master pages, permissions
• Apply photography, graphics and creative treatment to the page design. Follow writing and brand standards and quality control measures to ensure consistent messaging, tone and brand standard/identity.
• Continually create and manage templates and new features for the News section of our SharePoint Online intranet.
• Monitor pages for adherence to organization standards, guide the site owners in keeping data up to date or archiving outdated documents
• Serve as backup for daily and routine production and design tasks for enterprise-wide communications channels, often handling time-sensitive and confidential information
• Fielding ad hoc requests related to all-employee channels
Qualifications
• College degree or related professional work experience
• A minimum of 2-4 plus years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of SharePoint, Web/Graphic Design, HTML, User Experience, Content management, and publishing technologies
• College degree or relevant work experience
• Understanding of CSS concepts and application
• Knowledge and practice of SharePoint best practices implementation and utilization experience
• Experience working with development, staging and production environments
Preferred Skills
• Skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver (or similar IDE)
• Highly organized and flexible
• Adaptable to change and able to tackle unfamiliar tasks with positive attitude and resourcefulness
