Job Description for Branch 1065 Position
The Mortgage Business Developer-II is to pursue opportunities for long term growth from our clients, employees, markets and relationships. Represent the Bank of England/Bank of England Mortgage in showcasing our financial services to prospective real estate companies/realtors and builders/construction contractors. The skill set for this position is based on 3 principle items: (1) Strategy, (2) Sales and (3) Relationship Management. This is a non-exempt position.
Essential Functions/Duties:
1. Promote company growth by making first contact with Managing Brokers and Clients; opening doors for the Branch to establish new relationships with potential clients and Realtors.
2. Market and promote company initiatives through outbound phone calls, emails, direct mail, association conventions, networking, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients.
3. Enhance relationships with existing Clients/Realtors and assist Branch personnel with efficient means of enhancing relationships.
4. Develop a pipeline of prospective clients through identifying potential clients and decision makers with the client organization and set up meetings with client decision makers. Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that speak to the prospective client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
5. Develop a rapport with new clients and provide support that will continually improve the relationship. Present an image that mirrors that of the prospective client. This also requires developing and retaining the customer base by presenting new solutions and services to clients.
6. Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
7. Manage developing client accounts through consistent follow-up, communication and maintaining accurate notes to the Branch Manager.
8. Ability to perform all aspects of business to business development within the real estate and construction sector with emphasis on developing a pipeline of clients, networking, negotiating and closing deals.
9. Work with internal and corporate colleagues to meet customer/client needs.
10. Event coordination – Attend branch events, industry functions such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
11. Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to garnering new clients.
12. Fill ‘Greatness Tracker’ every week
13. Responsible for filling a minimum of 10 people ‘Lunch & Learn’ (including at least 2 prospective clients) each month.
14. Create and manage a marketing calendar for at least six (6) months in advance.
15. Send 10 handwritten thank you cards per week.
16. Attend at least 4 social networking events per month.
17. Plan at least one (1) major event and responsible for all coordination every quarter.
18. Website enhancements, updates and changes; properly facilitate with the webmaster to ensure optimal performance.
19. Press Releases – Any new hires onto the team or new relationships; introducing those as an official Press release.
20. Facebook – Responsible for all content and specific upgrades, contest posting, etc. Working with compliance to ensure everything posted is in accordance with the FDIC regulations.
21. Happy Hours – Create, attend and supervise each monthly branch Happy Hour with a specific theme for each event allowing all staff members in attendance the ability to promote and enhance potential B2B relationships.
22. Client Appreciation Events – Plan, Schedule, Attend and Manage at least 1 client appreciation event per year.
23. Budget – Work with Management on a specific budget on a monthly basis.
24. Protect Company's reputation and image by delivering a high level of customer service and keeping any potential/present/past client information confidential.
25. Honesty and integrity in dealing with others, and accountability in standing behind your work; initiative and self-motivation in offering your services in serving the client, and getting the job completed thoroughly and on time; good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to listen to others and understand their needs; good networking skills, including confidence in yourself and enthusiasm for your company and its’ services.
Performance based:
• Current business partners and how much business has increased due to these actions
• How many new business partners were generated from these actions
• How many new leads/clients were generated from these actions
• Is their uniformity and consistency with our marketing plan and how we are approaching the overall business
Required Education & Experience:
1. Demonstrate solid mortgage loan acumen, 3-5 years’ experience in financial Services or related industry.
1. High School Diploma and some collage; Bachelor’s degree in business desired.
1. Must possess basic PC skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Excel or equivalent software. Encompass experience desired.
1. Demonstrate effective and strong verbal and listening communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with principals, executive management and clients.
1. Demonstrate strong negotiation, relationship building and influencing behavior skills.
1. Demonstrate the assertiveness, perseverance, energy and passion – results oriented behavior required to be successful in this role.
1. Demonstrate effective problem solving, planning & time management skills.
1. Must have own reliable vehicle/transportation and able to travel to various prospective client locations for meetings/appointments.
1. This position will require/requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the terms of the Safe Act of 2008. As such, upon active employment with Bank of England/Bank of England Mortgage, you will be required to either register via the NMLS registry or re-register and move your previous registration to Bank of England/Bank of England Mortgage registration rolls. Your continued employment in this position with Bank of England/Bank of England Mortgage is contingent upon successful registration after your start date and annual re-registration thereafter. In addition, information obtained during the registration process may impact your employment with Bank of England/Bank of England Mortgage.
