We are looking to hire a Director, Content Marketing who will report to the VP of CRM & Content at our Costa Mesa location. The primary responsibility of the position will be to develop, lead & execute against the content marketing strategy and deliver against the associated KPIs.
Additional responsibilities of the Director, Content Marketing will include, but not limited to, the following:
• Lead the development & execution of Experian’s content strategies across identified segments, content types and channels
• Develop strategic content strategies via cross-channel marketing that include CRM, SEO and Social Media
• Lead the organic social channel including strategy development, execution, measurement and optimization
• Drive consistent relevant traffic and marketing qualified leads by converting site traffic through high-quality content across multiple channels
• Integrate with cross functional go-to-market teams, meeting launch deadlines and roadmap requirements
• Provide thought leadership and help the business solve customer or performance challenges through the use of cross-channel content plans. Contribute strategies and tactical ideas to ensure a thorough end-to-end plan is developed against said strategy.
• Own content success metrics and deliver a robust measurement and reporting structure across defined distribution channels and business performance KPIs & drive continuous improvement. Ensure all relevant performance metrics delivered against and are communicated to the business in a timely and effective fashion.
• Develop and operationalize a content calendar & communication strategy anchored around a superior customer experience while driving key performance metrics.
• Provide strong team support to a group of talented content marketers, ensuring they have the subject matter expertise, mentorship & leadership needed to succeed in their roles.
• Analyze competitor content programs and develop counter strategies and initiatives
• Utilize content strategy best practices & drive innovation to increase engagement, ROI, and business performance metrics as defined.
• Partner with CRM, SEO, Ecommerce, Product, Acquisition and other internal teams to leverage and optimize content marketing opportunities
• Optimize the customer funnel with education and content throughout customer journey, for audiences including leads/prospects, free customers and paid subscription customers with additional segmentation to these groups
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Corporate PR & Social, Legal, Compliance, other Experian business units, and others
Qualified applicants for the Director, Content Marketing will meet the minimum requirements as listed below:
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’ experience as a proven leader in Content Marketing, ideally for a fast-paced consumer marketing organization
• Background in content marketing or communications, with an understanding of marketing strategy and customer experience optimization
• Strong analytical skills, with ability to comprehend and drive to performance metrics
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with innate understanding of brand voice and utilizing content to drive desired consumer behaviors
• Experience in managing organic social media channels & solid understanding of SEO and CRM distribution channels
• Ability to collaborate across teams and channels with all relevant stakeholders
• A results-driven marketer with a true understanding of the role of content and how it fits into a cross channel ecosystem to achieve aggressive performance metrics
• Experience developing and managing content creation processes and producing various types of content including articles, long form and short form, Q&A, FAQs, video, tutorials, etc.,
• Strong familiarity of marketing platforms and experience with back end technologies and reporting infrastructures
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and grow content professionals while working across complex organizations in an environment of change.
• Agency management experience preferred.
