JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing the day to day functions of the Deposit Operations team; ensures back office operational activities run smoothly and efficiently; provides leadership, training and supervision within the department as well as the Company; assists Operations Officers, Managers and Retail Branch Managers with operations questions. Performs cross training and direct supervisory duties of department staff, coordinates staff for coverage in all related areas of Deposit Operations. Assumes responsibility and is accountable for departmental adherence to Company policies and procedures. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the daily activities of the team including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training.
2. Handles all customer service issues, assists the 3 Bank Divisions and other LOBs with escalated client issues, questions, troubleshooting, and/or other related matters.
3. Directs oversight for all deposit operation activities related to, but no limited to, Wire, ACH, Non-Post, Adjustment, NSF, In-clearings, IRA’s, Levy, Escheatment, Returns, Subpoena, Recon, Fraudguard.
4. Demonstrates a deep and broad understanding of the business. Proactively identifies opportunities to share expertise and add value to the business.
5. Promotes corporate culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation.
6. Coordinates with Compliance Officers regarding responses for independent third party and regulatory audits of the department. Identified deficiencies from such audits and ensure that they are corrected.
7. Establishes a risks culture by embedding the risk framework into his/her business or functions.
8. Communicates with impact and inspire others to follow his/her lead.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
• Advanced knowledge of the following applications and skills: FiServ, Premier Navigator, WireXchange, Six Sigma, LEAN Process.
• Advanced knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act compliance.
• Advanced experience, knowledge and training in all operational and lending activities and terminology.
• Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank operational policies and procedures, and the Bank’s products and services.
• Advanced skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Effective organizational, time management skills and ability to multi tasks
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to make decisions that have significant impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
• Ability to provide immediate constructive feedback to subordinates, peers and manager as needed.
• Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:
• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 8 years’ related work experience and/or training. Work related experience should consist of a branch banking or banking operations background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working in a similar Supervisory position.
• Prior banking experience required.
