Job Description
Everest Global Services, a member of Everest Re Group, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for their Corporate Applications division, headquartered in Liberty Corner, New Jersey. The Business Analyst will partner with Financial Services Department management and practitioners to enhance the department’s efficiency and effectiveness.
The Business Analyst participates in all phases of the software development life cycle, able to effectively collaborate with business and technical partners to assure successful solution delivery. Projects range from minor enhancements to large scale system implementations, and responsibilities may include production support on assigned systems.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Act as a liaison between the Financial Services business area, technical organization, and other affected areas in planning, directing and conducting the analysis of business problems.
• Develop project proposals that reflect understanding of business needs and relevant technology solutions.
• Employ the proper and effective elicitation techniques to ensure user stories are appropriately and efficiently identified, analyzed and documented using industry standard analysis techniques.
• Develop detailed business and functional requirements, using templates and tools consistent with the methodology being employed.
• Suggest creative technical and/or process solutions to identified business needs.
• Research system functionality and recommend capabilities not in use. Maintain current knowledge of all platform capabilities for purchased software.
• Participate in the Scrum team to prioritize, plan, and release working product increments.
• Provide support for user acceptance testing and test defect resolution.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the Financial Services business domain and systems.
• Configuration and maintenance of reference tables, vendor applications, or reporting and dashboard tools as needed.
• Document and distribute clear and concise user facing release notes/communications.
• Provide ongoing production support, including responding to user issues, collaborating with the technical team to analyze and resolve reported system issues and communicating the resolution of issues to the business community.
• Support ETS department with necessary product knowledge, presentations and technical expertise.
• Conform to Company standards and practices to comply with Internal Audit and SOX controls.
Work Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Knowledge of standard accounting, budgeting and forecasting practices required
• Degree in Finance or Accounting is highly desired
• Ability to perform and document analysis of complex business, workflow, and technology issues to support decision-making
• 3-5 years of Business Analyst experience working in the corporate financial services domain with knowledge of accounts receivable/payable, general ledger and standard reporting practices
• Experience with PeopleSoft or other ERP platform considered a plus
• Agile Software development
• Willingness to learn / a motivated self-learner
• Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective at presenting and facilitating a variety of formal and informal meetings
• Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills
• Achievement or pursuit of IIBA CBAP or other certification program helpful
