Role Value Proposition: The Sustainability Agent is responsible for supporting organizational leadership in building a culture of continuous improvement. The Sustain Agent will work with all levels of the organization to build skills in operating a Lean Management System, design systems to drive leadership behaviors, provide ongoing coaching, and facilitate performance improvement tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coaching and ongoing training of teams and individuals to improve their effectiveness and systematic use of Lean Tools, such as Takt Time, 5S, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, Coaching/development and Demand Management. Diagnose problems and lead teams to the development of permanent solutions.
• Facilitator - Ensure teams have the needed resources, access to sponsors, and help from outside the team.
• Support leadership team in executing 90 Day Planning cycles
• Reporting Results / Drive Change - Assist teams to develop measures, quantify results & report on MLW impact
• Celebrate Successes - Ensure teams are properly recognized and that all improvements are reported and recorded; communicating results to all employees and management on a frequent basis.
• Networking - Participate in MetLife Way networks, training, and roundtables to build Lean Management skills, understanding and execution
• Identify and remove barriers to continuous improvement initiatives
• Work with leadership to create an environment for learning, goal alignment and accountability
• Role model MetLife Way behaviors
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Minimum 2 years leadership/mentoring experience (team or project based)
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills and well-developed relationship building skills
• Ability to communicate and influence all levels of the organization including senior leadership
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills / demonstrated experience in effective and disciplined problem solving
• Demonstrates ability to get teams and individuals to take action without direct authority over them required
• High level of enthusiasm and energy while exhibiting flexibility in a dynamic fast paced business environment
Preferred:
• Bachelors Degree
• Experience or significant exposure to continuous improvement principles and /or lean management
• Change Management
• Coaching skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Microsoft Office suite proficient
