Job Summary
Under general supervision, acts as account manager in the coordination of moderate to complex billing and collection activities. Ensures resolution of all disputes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Works with external customers (broker, agent, and/or client) to determine escalated billing and collection disputes. Investigates and resolves issues with various internal departments such as Underwriting, Claims, Billing, etc. Initiates best corrective action to pursue collections before they become past due.
2. Performs moderate to complex billing and collections reconciliations to invoice.
3. Assists collateral department with collecting collateral as necessary and obtaining letters of credit.
4. Explains CNA?s cash flow and loss sensitive billing methods and concepts to external customer and advises them on billing and collections matters. Recommends payment settlement as necessary.
5. Partners with Underwriting to assist external customers with the best billing plan and collection methods available per policy.
6. Reviews and rates accounts based on established guidelines for future insurance policies.
7. Establishes forecast on payment based on client's previous payment history.
8. May assist agents and outside counsel with legal collection activities.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Typically Supervisor or above
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Working knowledge and understanding of billing, collections and related interfaces.
2. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures and cash flow concepts, collateral arrangements, and finance agreements.
3. Good understanding of the insurance industry and property casualty products.
4. Excellent communication and customer service skills needed to work effectively with high profile individuals often regarding sensitive collection issues.
5. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
8. Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite and other business related software.
Education & Experience
1. Associates Degree or equivalent.
2. Typically a minimum two years experience in related field. Experience with alternative funding concepts, escrow management, collateral instruments and insurance contracts and agreements helpful.
