Job Description Summary:
The Visitor/Guest Concierge is responsible for monitoring and greeting all guests and visitors to the Wingspread campus, and providing assistance in getting them to their destination. This position requires open and clear communications with guests, either by telephone or in-person. A successful candidate for this position must demonstrate the ability to listen and evaluate the needs of the visitor or guest.
The Visitor/Guest Concierge are also responsible for duties related to the safety and security of the Wingspread campus. This will include reporting any and all unusual circumstances and / or problems to management or facilities staff. If the incident is serious enough, staff may need to contact law enforcement assistance. The Visitor/Guest Concierge will also be responsible for touring the entire campus regularly and checking for the safety and well-being of the buildings, building contents and staff regularly during their scheduled shifts.
Job Description:
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Maintain a high degree of Guest Service attitude with all guests and visitors. Must demonstrate the ability to meet and exceed guests’ expectations while providing the services that they require.
2. Always represent Benchmark Hospitality and The Johnson Foundation in a professional and friendly manner.
3. Greet and direct or escort all incoming guests and visitors to the campus to their destination.
4. Must be able to monitor and manage daily schedules and arrivals, keeping up with scheduled tours and walk-in visitors for tours, reminding guests of scheduled appointments as needed in a friendly and professional demeanor.
5. This position must possess excellent multi-tasking skills. This position may require staff to manage multiple tasks with constant interruptions.
6. Must possess superb decision making and problem solving skills, must be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly analyze and evaluate information to choose the best outcome for The Johnson Foundation and Benchmark Hospitality.
7. Must be adept at organizing, planning and prioritizing job duties and also able to practice good time management skills.
8. Must be able to effectively communicate to guests, clients and management in a clear, polite and concise manner at all times.
9. This position requires strong people skills, including diplomacy and empathy as required.
10. Ability to assist and communicate with control and calmness during emergency situations.
11. This position requires willingness and ability to be certified as a First Responder and/or leader in medical or other emergency situations.
12. Must possess superb listening skill and critical thinking skills.
Marginal Functions of the Position:
1. Accept, sign and deliver all parcels and packages to the appropriate person(s).
2. Document and record information in activity logs, incident reports, telephone and visitor logs.
3. Monitor security gate camera and open/close gates as outlined by The Johnson Foundation.
4. Make regularly scheduled rounds of the property and report areas in need of attention or concern to the proper department or person.
5. Maintain and monitor buildings, equipment, and alarm systems.
6. Must be certifiable in First Aid, CPR and AED training.
7. Must be comfortable and able to work and walk the grounds during different times during the day and evening and during all types of weather.
8. Must have proficiency in basic computer programs and Microsoft Outlook operations.
9. Perform other job functions when assigned to ensure guest expectations are exceeded.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to communicate in English, clearly and professionally to guests and employees. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency. Six months of guest service or hospitality experience preferred.
