Santander Bank is seeking a experienced CRA / Mortgage Community Development Loan Officer for our expanding Mortgage Department.
The Mortgage Community Development Loan Officer is responsible for:
• Soliciting mortgage loans in support of community development initiatives designed to assist low and moderate income communities and families.
• Providing service to Bank customers and prospective Bank customers seeking mortgage loans.
• Ensuring compliance with Retail Mortgage Lending policies and procedures.
• Assisting in coordinating marketing and training programs.
• Maintaining knowledge of trends and developments in local real estate market as well as regulations concerning residential mortgage lending.
• Developing referral sources for mortgages through partnerships with retail branches.
• Preparing marketing plans and cross-selling other bank products and services.
• Working with team members in Mortgage Banking Division and other departments to provide information for prompt processing and closing of residential mortgage loan applications.
• Managing mortgage pipeline, assisting customers, inputting applications, and reviewing financial and credit data.
• Soliciting mortgage loans, interviewing applicants to obtain pertinent information regarding their loan needs and initiating the lending decision process.
• Studying and evaluating new activities, policies, programs, services and markets related to business development strategy.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of CRA Retail Mortgage lending experience is required.
• Ability to assess financial needs and work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of mortgage loan regulatory requirements, residential products and functions
• PC proficiency
• Proven sales track record
• Residential mortgage origination experience (FHA experience preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• This position is salary plus commission
