The Accountant II, Treasury Services is responsible for performing accounting tasks in the areas of corporate payment operations, reconciliation, and reporting for Treasury Services using knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Company policies, and business line procedures. This position generally compiles information from sources throughout BOK Financial, Treasury Services and payments vendors TSYS and MasterCard. Performs accounting reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close responsibilities, operational accounting functions, and projects for process improvements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs daily and month-end reconciliation of all accounts associated with Corporate Card Direct Issuance including payments In process, MasterCard settlement, incoming fees, chargebacks, and unearned bonus accounts. Serves as point of contract for TSYS accounting regarding all accounts and funding management for MasterCard’s daily settlement drawdown wire.
2. Creates journal entries to clear and properly account for reconciling items as necessary, records transactions as appropriate; monitors reconciling items and seeks resolution for items which have not been resolved in a timely manner.
3. Performs operational accounting tasks, such as disbursing funds via Regis, preparing operational reports, or coordinating accounting information with other departments of the bank.
4. Identifies mapping issues that may be causing recurring reconciliation errors and working with TSYS Totals Management Systems (TMS) Group and BOKF Treasury Services to resolve any posting errors.
5. Performs data entry of accounting-related information, such as account balances, invoices, or reconciling items. Reviews the accuracy of certain accounting-related information, such as amounts, contract terms, or proper approvals.
6. Responds to internal or external inquiries about general ledger reconciliation and operational activity. Assists Corporate Card Product Manager with annual revenue share calculations and reporting to internal and external clients.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Working knowledge and intermediate understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Ability to understand technical accounting topics
• General knowledge and understanding of bank operations
• Excellent PC skills including spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications; ability to operate a 10 key by touch
• Effective communication skills in order to explain accounting concepts and resolve problems
• Effective problem-solving skills in order to identify and resolve discrepancies
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and 2+ years related bank accounting experienceor 4+ years equivalent experience in accounting or finance.
