Role:
The Technical Writer manages and releases technical documents in multiple formats related to the service and maintenance of all Hologic diagnostic instruments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
• Initiate, create, edit, review, and implement documents and document changes working with end users to improve documentation, reduce errors, and enhance user comprehension and overall readability.
• Contribute and create Quality Control documents
• Revise existing documentation by working with stakeholders, partners, or distributors to facilitate revision, review, and approval of documentation
• Coordinate the transition of documentation through development, prototype, preproduction and production phases as appropriate
• Through Technical Training, maintain and expand knowledge of Quality Control processes, instrumentation, and software as it applies to documentation
• Release service and maintenance manuals for all Hologic diagnostic instrument.
• Support the electronic and hardcopy libraries of released and archived material
• Support training efforts in-house and remote to validate new/revised documentation
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in the Sciences
Experience
• At least 5 years of technical writing experience
Skills
• Must have worked in an FDA regulated industry
• Competence with Madcap Flare
• Experience with Adobe Frame Maker, Adobe InDesign, Acrobat and Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with Oracle
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
• Must be a good communicator
