Responsible for obtaining and evaluating information that supports revenue growth and profitability. Analyzes information using data manipulation, correlation, and statistical analysis. Play a critical role in finding new business opportunities, understanding their business implications, and developing information for the business capture process. Gather and analyze publicly available information about competitors, customers, products, markets, government regulations, trends, and public perception affecting target markets. Develop and implement a research strategy to identify key markets that support the company’s overall strategy and goals, locating new business opportunities, developing competitive intelligence for capturing key opportunities, and collecting and analyzing information and documentation to support the proposal process. Provide input for the strategic and tactical business planning processes.
Essential Functions
• Analyzes information using data manipulation, correlation, and statistical analysis
• Modifies computer programs to extract information from company databases.
• Prepares state indications and other analyses of loss experience, retention, and expense data.
• Responsible for development of data and information structure.
• Performs primary field research, including customer, distribution, competitor, insurance department, and market surveys.
• Identifies market segments and develops specialized pricing approaches.
• Measures and monitors performance of states, initiatives, and identified segments
• Facilitates through other parts of the organization to accomplish results.
• Assess and communicate research results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the information collection process, organizing, reducing redundancies, spotting connections, evaluating sources, and distilling and summarizing information into actionable intelligence items
• Maintain existing set of business intelligence tools and practices, and assess new tools, to assure the optimal mix of tools within budget constraints. Suggest and implement new research sources, methodologies, and analysis techniques.
• Improve and supplement the existing set of opportunity tracking and monitoring tools, to meet changing and expanding business targets especially as volume increases over time
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex information into management decision-making presentation materials
• Attention to minute detail, highly organized, consistent due diligence
• Ability to communicate messages effectively to customers in all markets

Typical Education
• BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field
Typical Range of Experience
• 2+ years of related experience or graduate degree and no experience
• Understanding of Customer Relationship Management and Business Intelligence systems
