Elavon is currently seeking a Sr. Quantitative Analyst, who will play a key role in U.S. Bank/Elavon’s Policy and Analytics team. This individual will play an important role in developing and optimizing credit strategies, policies, and flawless operational execution to maximize revenue. In addition to having a strong quantitative and analytical background, we are looking for an individual with passion to drive change, comfortable multi-tasking, and thinking out of the box to build an efficient and more agile process to gain competitive advantage in our industry.
The ideal candidate will provide credit policy expertise, advanced analytics support, in-depth industry intelligence knowledge, solid understanding of operational execution, and compliance monitoring for the portfolio. He/she will interact with internal and external key stakeholders to fully understand overall requirements to manage the portfolio. Additional responsibilities include:
• Analyzes portfolio performance at a granular segment level on an ongoing basis;
• Identifies trends and conducts root-cause analysis to isolate key performance drivers;
• Communicates findings and recommendations to the Senior Management team;
• Assesses fraud and risk exposures while exercising discretion on behalf of US Bank/Elavon and our business partners;
• Possesses the ability to work with large sets of credit bureau data and statistical models to optimize credit decisions;
• Supports efforts to develop pricing strategies to optimize risk-return trade-offs;
• Provides feedback and improvement proposals to internal business partners;
• Prioritizes and organizes workload while effectively managing multiple responsibilities;
• Maintains a solid working knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts; and
• Performs special projects from time to time, such as mentoring, training, and assisting others for overall company and team benefit.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Economics, or equivalent work experience
• Three to five years of experience in consumer lending and/or merchant acquiring industries (or strong internship experience combination equivalent)
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Experience programming in R, Python, SAS, or Advanced SQL
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Strong communication skills and ability to clearly and succinctly communicate technical subject matter to other team members and Senior Management team
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with people across functions and develop strong relationships
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
Preferred Skills
• SAS or other programming experience
• Experience in eCommerce
• Knowledge of modelling, forecasting, and machine learning approaches
