Reporting to the Head of Regional Bank Line of Business Marketing, the Director of Consumer Bank Marketing oversees the strategic marketing direction of 1MM+ consumer and small business households. The incumbent is responsible for acquiring and deepening customer relationships across the following client segments: Mass Market, Priority Banking, and Small Business. The incumbent also has direct responsibility for fostering growth across consumer deposit products, Small Business deposit and lending products and Digital Channel adoption. Another key function of the role is oversight of the messaging for multiple Bank-owned assets, including the branch network, customer contact through ATMs, statement inserts and certain landing pages within unionbank.com. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with respective line of business partners in order to understand the business needs and create marketing plans that drive results, and are on-time and within budget.
Major Responsibilities:
50% - Marketing Plan and Partner Management:
• Establish a strategic and day-to-day relationship with the heads of Deposit and Payments, Small Business Lending, and Digital Banking. in order to impact overall line of business direction
• Continuously refine plans quarterly to ensure they are competitive and align and meet business needs
• Develop and distribute senior level marketing communications to ensure strategic and messaging alignment amongst business line leadership
• Oversee marketing budget and work with Finance to ensure the budgeting, forecasting and in-year impacts are being accounted for on a monthly basis Ideate and present innovative opportunities for testing and learning based on internal efficacy assessments, competitive standpoint, and shifts in industry trends
25% - Team Management:
• Provide ongoing professional management and mentorship of a team of marketing professionals
• Ensure high profile marketing program assignments are optimally assigned to team members and managed to meet / exceed expectations
• Work with individual team members to create annual performance plans and conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews
• Partner closely with Wealth Markets to create a seamless Private Bank experience while supporting the introduction of Wealth Markets service offerings to Private Banking clients
• Drive the organization towards digital marketing in order to provide more targeted, efficient, and relevant client messaging
• Remain involved in development and evolution of digital space and channels to ensure there are continuous opportunities to drive revenue
• Position Marketing to be a direct contributor to the bottom line by ensuring Retail’s marketing strategies and platforms continuously evolve and remain competitive / best-in-class in the digital marketing landscape and be a champion for bringing new and innovative opportunities that can
• Ensure continuous focus on enhancing the online customer experience while also driving the use of multi-channel marketing
• Drive increased revenue by creating and measuring effective annual marketing plans that align the needs of the customer segments and business lines
• Work closely with other senior marketing leaders to support a superior and consistent customer experience
• Partner closely with Wealth Markets to create a seamless Private Bank experience while supporting the introduction of Wealth Markets service offerings to Private Banking clients
25% - Digital Marketing Consumer Bank Leadership:
• Drive the organization towards digital marketing in order to provide more targeted, efficient, and relevant client messaging
• Remain involved in development and evolution of digital space and channels to ensure there are continuous opportunities to drive revenue
• Position Marketing to be a direct contributor to the bottom line by ensuring Retail’s marketing strategies and platforms continuously evolve and remain competitive / best-in-class in the digital marketing landscape and be a champion for bringing new and innovative opportunities that can

Qualifications
• 15 years of marketing experience, preferably within the financial services industry MBA or Master’s degree preferred
• Experience in managing a team, but also contributing at an individual level
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills required
• Strong, decisive leadership ability with a desire and competency to influence change
• Analytical prowess and fluency
• Strong presentation skills in the presence of executive management
• Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed environment
• Flexibility to adjust in an often-changing business environment
• Organized and process-oriented; Six Sigma experience a plus
